SOLVED. YA Book from 1980s lost in woods. [s]

Hi! I’m trying to find the name of a YA novel I read around probably 1987. It was about a young boy and girl (maybe 14?) who get separated on a school trip or something in the woods. It’s a survival story that turns into a love story. I remember the crossing of a river and the male character suffering a broken leg, being on crutches at the end. I want to say his name was Peter and her name was Bennett. At one point they fight and he says, “You don’t play fair, Bennet.” Any ideas? :)
