If only one edition of a book belongs to a series?

I have created a series for Duckworth's Great Lives and I'm trying to add some volumes to it. However it appears that at least some of the books have been published in different editions by different publishers, outside Duckworth's original series. How, if it is indeed possible, do I make only the Duckworth edition part of the series I've created? At present if I add the book to the series, all editions join!

From Librarian Manual -

As a general rule, a book is only part of a series if that designation would apply to all editions of a work. To be a series, books should have characters and/or universes in common. In the case of imprints and other non-series collections, it is common for some of these books to be published under numerous other imprints as well.

Right, got it. More an imprint than a series. Thanks you two, I'll go and create a list instead.
