The female lead is studying egyptian mythology and for a PhD accepts to work with a professor from another university to decipher a tablet that gives another entrance to a pyramid that has a temple or something similar inside. The girl is actually an immortal that has to transition into becoming a Na'jaeret and will change slightly her appearance and is actually the child from the prophecy that Seth is waiting for. The professor is also an immortal and is her soul mate. He protected Alexanders bloodline for hundreds of years so it won't mix with Seth, who is also an immortal, but he is actually possesed by one of the two gods that created the universe, and is similar to the god of chaos. The girl eventually gets together with her soul mate and has to travel in time. She ends up in Ancient Egypt and the guy who rules the people is actually the other god, who apparently had a constant presence in her childhood, teaching her the old language and in that time she gets together with her professor again because they bonded in present time and she will die if she's not in constant contact with him, more exactly his pheromones. She learns the use her powers from that god then gets sent back to present time to defeat the other god and imprison him, since he can't be destroyed.
It's been more than 3 years since I've read the book and it was an electronic version.
