I read this book a few years ago and I know it was apart of a series. I remember that it was about a boy called 'Mack' who often got bullied by another kid at his school but escaped sometimes. One day he discovers that weird creatures and magic exists and he begins practicing it under his new teacher. That is pretty much all I can remember, any help would be appreciated.
