Obviously, there aren’t too many books that take place in a herpetologist mansion. Chapter 5-7 (view spoiler)[ the boudelairs find the second one equally confusing and try to figure out the meaning.their chores are crazy.the council members told the boudelairs that olaf was captured and jumps to the conclusion that it is true.the guy they caught to burn at stake is not even count olaf.poor boudelairs:Olaf is on the loose, and innocent man is sentenced to die, and they are no closer to discovering the true whereabouts of the Quagmire triplets . (view spoiler)[I like the irony of Aunt Josephine because afraid of pretty much everything, and yet she lives on a house that is perched precariously over a cliff above a giant lake. The Baudelaires had suggested she move, but one of her greatest fears is apparently realtors. It is ridiculous and yet that is what I enjoy about these books. (hide spoiler)]

Violet is the smart inventor, Klaus is the brainy bookworm, and even Sunny's sharp teeth have helped them get out of difficult situations. Unfortunately, Count Olaf is surprisingly intelligent and clever as well. I like seeing the two sides trying to outsmart the other. Although, clearly I want the Baudelaires to win. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I love the names of characters in this book. For example, Vice Principal Nero. The Roman Emperor Nero was a tyrant and a bit crazy. I can see how Vice Principal Nero reflects those traits. (view spoiler)[Isadora and Duncan’s story sounds awfully similar to the Baudelaire’s. Both had parents (and a brother) who perished in a fire, and both are set to inherit a fortune when they become adults. Coincidence? I think not! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Despite dealing with Count Olaf after them, an uncaring Vice Principal (who is the actual Principal?!), and a bratty Carmelita Spats’ taunting, at least they now have Isodora and Duncan. The question now is, can they be trusted? Are they going to be characters for this book only? Most characters only stay in a single book except for the Baudelaires and Count Olaf and co. (view spoiler)[Ah, so Count Olaf’s plan has finally been revealed: make the Baudelaire orphans run laps all night so that they extremely tired and fail all of their classes. Count Olaf, disguised as the gym teacher, offered to Vice Principal Nero to homeschool them if they flunked out of school. He would then become their guardian again. Not the most exciting plan, but still rather cunning. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Oh no, Count Olaf has the two Quadmire triplets in his clutches! I am hoping that means they show up again in another book. I would hate to think that this was the last that we ever hear about Duncan and Isadora. This also gives the Baudelaires a reason to track Count Olaf down instead of continuing to try and evade him.
