Michael Vey The Final Spark
Michael Vey The Final Spark is a great book! Out of five stars I give it five out of five. The plot of this story is that there are 17 children who were genetically modified to have special powers. The main character is Michael Vey. He has the power of electricity. Meaning he can shoot electricity, electrocute people, and he can take out power sources.
In the first book, Michael was being chased by a guy named Hatch. He created all these electric kids and he wants to find them and make them fight for him. Eventually Michael finds becomes a prisoner of cell 25 which is suppose to be the scariest cell that Hatch has. In the other six books, Michael gets away from Hatch and starts a group of electric and non electric kids. This group consists of electric children named Taylor, Abigail, Ian, McKenna, Cassy, Grace, Nichelle, Quentin, Tanner, Tara, Torstyn, and Zeus. The non electric children in the group are Ostin and Jack. In book six, the group was fighting Hatch and his army in the rain on an island. Michael went onto a rod that was high in the air, and got hit by lighting. When he was hit, he caused a huge explosion that killed most of Hatch’s army. It also killed Michael. In the seventh book, The Final Spark, the group got away on Hatch’s prized possession The Joule. The Joule is a submarine boat that is very expensive and very quick. Now that the group has Hatch’s prized possession, they use it to go and attempt to destroy Hatch.
In the process of transportation to the island in which Hatch was on, Hatch intercepted them. So what he did was he sent the Philippines army to stop The Joule and take the resistance hostage. The resistance is that group that Michael formed. The resistance came up with a plan to stop the army but when they went to execute this plan they were stopped because of RESAT’s. A RESAT is a device that takes away the children’s powers. The non electric kids aren’t affected by the RESAT’s but both Jack and Ostin fall to the deck. Ostin then thinks for Taylor to scream to distract the army. Taylor read his mind because that is her power and she screamed, and both Jack and Ostin fall of the ship into the water without the army noticing. They then hold on to the side of the ship and jump off when it gets near the shore. They make it to the shore and their next goal is to find a way to the island in which their friends are being taken to.
Here is where I started to think that they were being led on and going to be taken hostage. To me this was the climax but when reading on the climax was further ahead and this was just the beginning of an adrenaline pumping ride. It starts to become predictable so I thought but I thought wrong. Michael is dead so I thought all hope was lost because there were no special kids that weren’t taken hostage but once again I was wrong. There was hope.
All in all Michael Vey The Final Spark was a great book and I recommend that you read it. First I recommend reading the first six books before reading this one but they are all amazing. The book is very intriguing and there is never a dull moment. I hope you read this book and enjoy it as much as I did.
