Shadow of the Fox (Untitled #1) by Julie Kagawa - Restarting August 5th 2021
So the first three chapters were a bit confusing for me. It almost seemed like three similar but different stories. Now that I'm about 30% it's finally tied back to that first chapter and it's become more cohesive.
I have a feeling that my copy is missing the map. There are a few pages at the front that are basically blank?
I also really want a glossary and some info about the traditional clothing and the paranormal creatures.

Hopefully you know a little Japanese or you might be a bit confused. She likes to use hai and some other basic Japanese. :)

I was very confused at first as well but if you look at the summary it states another name as the MC.
Also the orb does come into play later on. :)

If you look at my very first comment the first chapter won't make much sense until about 30% in. Then you'll get an aha moment. :)

I hope so too. I felt a bit lost since I'm most familiar with Greek mythology. This was a nice change but it was also a bit confusing.

I know almost nothing about Japanese folklore or mythology. :(
I should study up on it after I read this. I have a huge textbook on on all kind of mythology should dust that off. lol.

Same. I was actually amazed I got approved for Shadow of the Fox since I'm almost certain my approval rating is like 1%. I'm hoping that after I finish this it will go a up a little. :)
It's actually not as bad as I thought at 14% but that's still pretty low. :S

I'm scared. I'm only on chapter 4. Personally I'm not finding it hard to understand, but I do wish that the author would have stuck with a language. Was saying 'hai' instead of yes really necessary?
Hit part II. I'm happy that the narrators are all in the same place now.
There isn't even a planned sequel on the authors page yet! I think it's mentioned at the end of the book though right?!
