Bummer, I would have been intersted, but since it's a holiday weekend for many of us, I'll be out camping, so my internet will be patchy...therefore not at my best to participate in a quick moving challenge :(

If it doesn't start until after Monday, then I'd be interested in any position :D

Louise | 3330 comments There will be 3 matches each one lasting two weeks.

Dont think I am reliable enough, but I will if you can get anyone else to play. Just let me know.

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Great I’m in for anything starting Tuesday or later :). So whatever position is open.

message 256: by Kaley (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments I don't want to do Quidditch because I think I'd get too confused. I would if we absolutely needed someone, but I'm assuming between the four Slytherin teams we will fill up the Quidditch team with relatively little trouble :)

Louise | 3330 comments Welcome Jade, take a look around, all the important links are on the first page and there is a Spelling and Classes planning tab on the spreadsheet.

For some quick points there is a Survey this is open for about another hour.

Don't forget to post your TT shelf and let us know if you wish to take part in quidditch and what position 🙂

message 265: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments Welcome to the group Jade!

It's okay to be quiet :) I think we're all a little busy doing our own thing. Since my husband is working all weekend, I'm dedicated to finishing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Children of Blood and Bone either today or, at the very latest, tomorrow. I'm really wanting to just read as much as possible when I'm alone.

message 266: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments Just finished Children of Blood and Bone and loved it :) Really looking forward to reading the next one!

Can't believe we've come to the end of our 2nd week. First of all welcome to our new team member, Jade 👋

We have read 71 books amassing 23,259 pages. Keep them coming team.

If you are reading the May BOM be sure to have these read by deadline so that we can claim the extra points.
Children of Blood and Bone by 2nd June
Lilac Girls by 16th June.

June BOMs are
Leah on the Offbeat starting 2nd June
Red Sister starting 16th June

We have nearly completed the Unforgivable Curses we only need a U.

Classes are coming along nicely, we have mastered Astronomy 🎉

We are close to mastering Herbology: we need 2 books with either dirt/ dung or compost on the cover or in the title.

We need some coloured books for Potions, mainly yellow.

We are still waiting for the Tri-Wizard tournament information to be posted.

The first quidditch match starts on the 29th. You should have all had an invite to the dungeon. Make sure to head on over, it is our dedicated common room. Discussions for quidditch will be held in the common room.

Well done everyone here's to a good week coming😀

We'd like you to check in once a week to let us know that all is well, if only to say hi.
• What are you looking forward to over the next week?
• What is your current read?
• Is there anything you would like us to do to make things easier?

Louise | 3330 comments It's a Bank Holiday weekend here, 🤞, the weather will remain dry. Heading off to s BBQ this afternoon so won't get much reading done. Currently reading Unleashed (Sydney Rye, #1) by Emily Kimelman which I need to finish by tomorrow.
Going to be reading Magic Unbound (Fae Unbound #1) by Jill Nojack , Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty - BR starting 29/5, Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly this week and hopefully reread Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling

message 271: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments I’m totally jealous of people going to gather with friends and family tomorrow. All of my family is halfway across the country and my husband is working so I’m going it alone. BUT I’m planning on finishing goblet if Fire today and I started reading The Passage by Justin Cronin. I’m only like, 25 pages in and I’m hooked. According to Bookly it’s going to take me about 16 hours to read, so I’m probably going to read just this one for a bit.

I am kind of looking forward to my birthday coming up. It’s next Sunday 😊

M Beal | 1680 comments Hello Jade and welcome!

Also sorry for the book dump, I posted all the ones I have finished in the past week. I am currently reading for Astronomy and DADA. I have a lot of time to read on my commute, so that is nice. If I finish more I will post them.
Pandora's Star (Commonwealth Saga, #1) by Peter F. Hamilton The Ultimate Werewolf by Byron Preiss Streams of Silver (Forgotten Realms Icewind Dale, #2; Legend of Drizzt, #5) by R.A. Salvatore

Ghost in the Stacks • What are you looking forward to over the next week?
...Thats its only a 4 day work week!

• What is your current read?
The Wild Inside (Glacier Mystery #1) by Christine Carbo

• Is there anything you would like us to do to make things easier?
Go to work for me, so I can stay home and read.

message 275: by Kaley (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments Checking in! Currently reading The Good Daughter which is a buddy read. Should finish that before the end of the week, so I’m not sure what I’ll go for next!

Also, not sure I got an invite to the dungeon though, unless I missed it?

Hi Andrea, there are a few parts to the challenge, any book read 100pgs or more gets us points, each book also increases our arithmancy score.

We have 3 sets of Curses to Spellout, we get points per letter in the spellout and bonus points for competing the curse. We can use the title of the book, series name, author First or last name, or character names. There are quite a few letters needed including lots of vowels, 1 Y and 3 X's

If you are able to find something for one of these that would be great.

Hi Jade, welcome if you can post your TT shelf I can get you all linked up. We can use any books you've read from the start of TT providing they weren't started before TT. Post in this thread any books that qualify. Don't worry about secondary characters for the spell Out, but please do list the MCs

I love 4-day work weeks, unfortunately that means I have one less day to finish month end accounts. Now if I could somehow work out how to clone myself, I can stay home and read and send my clone to work.

I'm liking your book Abbie for the setting for our creature

Starting Cold-Hearted Rake (The Ravenels, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , buddy read
• What is your current read? The Seventh Sun by Kent Lester
• Is there anything you would like us to do to make things easier? I'd go for what Abbie said ;)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) | 787 comments Hi all, I have had a look through the posts. Still confused (which doesn't take much) Looking back through what I have already read since the challenge started, I have a book that has a yellow cover and a few others which match the spell outs. Will get them posted!

message 293: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments Thanks Snow 😄 I have to do the grocery shopping for both of us today and meal prep for him....so that’ll be interesting lol.

Jade, I totally understand why you’d be confused. There’s a lot going on 😊 if you see something in the classes that you think you could find, go for it, but otherwise just stick with the colors for potions and the spell outs.

message 294: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (diamond_rebel) | 190 comments Hello all, the last couple of weeks have not been kind to me. We just had an unexpected death in my family which has sent us reeling. I am almost done with Children of Blood and Bone (Legacy of Orïsha, #1) by Tomi Adeyemi , I should finish that tonight. I am going to a baseball game with my family today, but I'm planning on making headway with We Are Legion (We Are Bob) (Bobiverse, #1) by Dennis E. Taylor in the meantime.

I think after I finish these I will pick up something light, or short. I feel so behind. But I will also check my shelves for books to complete some goals for us. I hope everyone else is having fun with the challenges etc.
