Awesome! It’s totally understandable, with it being a holiday weekend. I’m not anywhere close to my family, so I don’t have any plans. Im about 60 pages away from finishing the sorcerers stone. Im debating about just starting the second book right away.

Got lucky that one of the books I read yesterday had a Y-sometimes hard to know ahead of time with character names!
Louise & Samantha, not sure if you noticed, but a few of the books on the spreadsheet have a March completed date instead of May.
I just noticed the Classes on the spreadsheet, are we working on those too, or just the spellout for noe?
That was totally me on the March thing XD I'll fix that up if Louise hasn't already. And the classes are coming soon. If you want to think ahead and plan a book or two for them later on, that's fine, but we're not starting on the classes quite yet.
Classes will be released soon, some of the classes look straightforward e.g: arithmancy and divination. Once we have more information on the classes strategising will make it easier. For arithmancy we need 1 each of page count:
100 - 160
161 - 350
351 - 500
501 - 650
651 - 800
800 - 900
over 901
For Divination we need:
3 books to be published: ARCs
3 books where a character uses fortune teller/ divination tools
3 books where a prophecy/ vision is described

I used this for the K in Unforgivable Curses, but we can move books around.
For spellouts we'll be looking to complete the Unforgivable Curses First:
A - 6
C - 2
D - 2
E - 2
I - 3
K - 1
M - 1
P - 1
R - 3
S - 1
T - 1
U - 3
V - 2
I have a few goosebumps books that are just over 100 pages that can fit some of the letters. I’ve got 3 As and a V. If we need an E, I have one of those as well. Goosebumps books are usually pretty quick reads for me.
I have a few X books, but I'll hold off on reading those until we get through the Unforgivable Curses, I've got plenty to read in the meantime ;)
My current book has S, D, C, E, M, P so plenty of options.Ill look for a U - I'm pretty sure I have at least one.
Snowtulip wrote: "I have a few X books, but I'll hold off on reading those until we get through the Unforgivable Curses, I've got plenty to read in the meantime ;)"Annoyingly X's are only worth 2 points
M wrote: "I just finished a V book, I believe I have a U in my next one."Added, can you edit your post please to show 2018 ;)
I forgot how focused I got with these challenges! Hubby already asked if I was going to stop reading/listening for a little bit this weekend :D Forgot to warn him a new challenge started!
Lol I warned my hubby too. Luckily he was gone most of the weekend, but still. I’ve had my nose buried in a book all weekend!

Having any more luck with Children of Blood and Bone? I'm starting to get into it more -- I do like the story -- but where the story is where I am right now, it feels like I should be in the last third of the book, and I'm still in the first third.... so I know there will be much more to this book than I think there will be, but I feel like the story's progressing so fast that I'm worried the second half will feel like a totally separate book. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
I'll likely be reading War Storm this week (it comes out tomorrow), and I know there was an I character in the third book in the series. Not sure if she'll be in War Storm/prevalent enough yet to count as a secondary character, but that one may be able to cover an I. I'll know more once I'm reading it :)
I actually started reading Scythe first. I have a huge pile of library books and Scythe is due back sooner than Children of Blood and Bone lol. I think I have til the 29th to read that one, but Scythe is due back on the 18th.
Will spend some time this evening to pull together the classes on the spreadsheet. This should help us with planning what we need.:)
Samantha wrote: "I wasn’t sure if I needed to post all of them or just one. I’ll do that before I go to work 😊"I was wondering that as well for when I'm done. Do we need to post all, or just one to prove we participated?
Oh, and Children of Blood and Bone has an I character too. I'd been listening to the audio up to this point so I didn't realize how that character's name was spelled (thought it was an E) :-P.
Louise wrote: "Samantha, can you edit your post for Harry Potter to include your BR links, extra points."So, I tried to edit the post to include more of my comments, but it's only letting me post one of the links. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if we only need one...?

I'm trying to get my hands on a physical or digital copy as well, but there are a bunch of holds at my library and for some reason they haven't bought the ebook version, so I probably won't get my hands on a copy till I've finished listening anyway. Unless I buy it, but I'm not sure I want to. Though, I do have a Barnes and Noble gift card calling my name.....
We'll see how impatient I get :-P
I do like switching back & forth between audio & physical though, because then I can shelve the physical copy without guilt -- I hate shelving audio copies, but I know we're supposed to shelve the one we use so I try to go through both while reading!
I had a busy weekend and didn't get much reading done, but I did get to start The Child Finder and on my way to work this morning I started listening to Drop Shot on audio book.

A link to your initial comment in the BR thread is sufficient I can get this linked on the spreadsheet.
As a good rule of thumb when it comes to BR/BOMs I would recommend a minimum of 3 posts to count for points.
REMEMBER that for BOM/BR participation points to count there MUST be participation in the thread. That means interacting with others, not just dropping in with a comment or two.

I've fixed this on the S/S 😉

I'm getting into it now, I was reading another fantasy book at the same time, and I think Children of Blood and Bone suffered a little because of how much I was liking the other book . I usually read different genres at the same time, rather than the same to avoid that...but the library doesn't seem to notice my system ;)

Alright, I just made it home from our long weekend adventure. I didn't have much time to read. My MIL doesn't exactly understand personal space or alone time. So now I am sitting down with my book and getting some major pages in.
the Child Finder is amazing, so is her other book The Enchanted. I love both of them and always recommend them

Thanks Louise! Mondays and Wednesdays are my worst days to be on here since I'm not really home. I'll be able to help more on Tuesdays and Thursdays :)

That's ok, I'm just messing around with the S/S at the moment so it was an easy fix.
Sorry. I did not feel well over the weekend, so I spend not much time on the internet. But I finished my first book and started the second Harry Potter book.I will try to be active on the buddy read thread for it, but I'm usually not good with buddy reads.
No worries Fandury, I struggle with BRs too, I am going to try on this though I've got a bit of a competitive streak and will do anything to eke out more points from a book 😉
A planning tab has now been added to the S/S. Although classes clarification hasn't been released yet, but should be soon, can you take a look and see what you can cover. If your book fits a task, please add it to your completion post.
There are quite a few Cover and colour tasks.

When are we actually starting them? I have a few that might work, but don't want to start them too soon.

Go ahead and start reading them. Just make sure you clarify that they're to be used for a certain class in your completion post so we know to assign the book to the right spot :)
