Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments Hey, no shame in reading romance! When I go into a slump, I usually gravitate to the romance too. Easy reading that I don’t have to think too hard on 😊

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments No trashing Romance! I too have mental health issues and happily ever afters are about all I can stomach - they can be gritty in between but have to have a happy ending.

Louise | 3331 comments Tracking post is updated, with correct names. Thanks for fixing S/S Samantha.

Over the course of this weekend all books that haven't been used will be allocated where possible.

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 544 comments Cheesy romance novels are always my solution to a reading slump! There are a couple series that I am reading that I just save the next books for when I need a mental break. No shame in that!!

Any book works Tori, I find the variety of books that we as a team read fascinating. It would be pretty boring if we all read the same type of book. At the minute I'm toying with adding the Calendar Girls to my ever expanding TBR

Tori Coulson good morning my lovelies! thank you for so many supportive messages yesterday. made me smile.

ive got another romance to chill too while my baby naps on me and my husband brought me a cup of tea

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments Nothing wrong with romance! Even if they are, as you said, "a tad trashy.” I’ve gone through the entirety of the Calendar Girl series in the last week or so 🤣

Hope you are having a better day Tori :)

Ghost in the Stacks Currently Reading I Am Death
I Am Death (Robert Hunter, #7) by Chris Carter

Ghost in the Stacks Soory ladies, nothing I am reading works for any of the tasks we have left.

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments Books used for the maze still count for page points, right? So if I have one used for the Slytherin maze I still post it on our thread — it just can’t count for any other tasks?

message 762: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson ive spent the day today at a garden party. lovely weather for it. ive had a couple glasses of bubbly and im hoping i can still read straight when i get home.

i took advantage og the three months for 99p offer on amazon prime day for kindle unlimited and im just having an explore of whats to offer

message 763: by Kaley (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments I love Kindle Unlimited! I got it a few months back when they had a similar deal but for two months instead of three.... and I just haven’t canceled it because I love it 🤣 hope you find things you like!

message 769: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 1041 comments Hey all! I've been quiet the past few days and wanted to check in. I got a massive migraine Wednesday and wasn't feeling well till yesterday.

But in good news, I finished my first TWT book this morning. Then I spent a few hours at our county library's book fair (a hockey arena full of books). I bought abut 25 books! Some nonfiction and a bunch of mysteries. Even three Historical romance novels written my my aunt that I haven't read yet. So... might have some romance reading in my future after all!

Ghost in the Stacks I have this one: Read a book where they celebrate Halloween

M Beal | 1680 comments I finished all the dragon books. Unless someone has claimed these I can cover them over the next few days.

Read a book tagged at least 10 times as “relax” or “calm”
Read a book with "Maze" in the title or series name
Read a book with "Treasure" in the title
Read a book with a cat on the cover

I'm curious how we're getting on but I don't know where to look

I'll post an update tomorrow with standings, had a weekend of gardening including escape-proofing the garden, so am a little behind.

Thanks for the clarification! Tori (and others).... there are a few tasks that seem well suited to romance books :)

I think there are only 3 books not spoken for in our originals 9 tasks (book with witch/wizard in title, book with cauldron on cover, and book with someone swimming on the cover)... so we'll be able to get points for other tasks really soon!!!

message 790: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments I found a cauldron book, but it has a long library hold :(

But if anyone else is interested it's Under My Hat Tales from the Cauldron by Jonathan Strahan

Sorry, my brain isn't functioning again ;) Does this include other books, outside of our 3 chosen books? So if we finish all the tasks under our current 3 books, we can start reading for other books?

We can use books from start of Tri-wizard against any of the tasks

You're good to go on this one, may not be very palatable, but still a drink!
