We'd like you to check in once a week to let us know that all is well, if only to say hi.
• What are you looking forward to over the next week?
• What is your current read?
• Is there anything you would like us to do to make things easier?

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I’m struggling to find a book to read. Everything I have is too angsty or too contemporary for me. Or too short. I can’t wait for Tri Wizard so I can have some focus!

Over 200 books and nothing appeals!

message 655: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments I'm with you Teresa, I do challenges to help me focus, so hopefully we get some tasks soon!

Or we might have to end up picking books for each other ;)

M Beal | 1680 comments Just checking in. I am currently face deep in my book club read
Century Rain by Alastair Reynolds

Other ones I will try for this week
Dorsai! (Childe Cycle, #1) by Gordon R. Dickson The Accidental Demon Slayer (Demon Slayer, #1) by Angie Fox The Petticoat Men by Barbara Ewing

I have a couple of days off and plan on doing nothing but reading in the shade.

Hannah (diamond_rebel) | 190 comments Checking in, this weekend was a success! I read two books, which for me is something of an accomplishment, plus I checked out some poetry collections.

I am currently reading Double Bind Women on Ambition by Robin Romm . I am going to pick back up The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller then hopefully later this week read Every Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children, #1) by Seanan McGuire .

Starting this week I have very early mornings for the next 5 weeks, however, that usually means I get some reading time in during the day because I start so early. We shall see!!

Fandury | 310 comments Checking in for the week.

Still not really out of my reading slump, but at least I managed to read 2 books this week...

It is simply too hot here. I'm not used to all these warm sunny days here in Germany.

And now I'm sitting in my office, getting slowly cooked and trying to stop my boss from closing all windows and doors, as he is convinced that as soon as you get even the tinyest bit of wind you will instantly get ill and die...

Not sure what I will read this week, but it has to be something good as I need something that really pulls me in.

The Girl Who Smiled Beads A Story of War and What Comes After by Clemantine Wamariya Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly

Have you had any 5 star reads?

message 666: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I’ve had about 14, but I reread some of my favourite books during this time and I’m really choosy and tend to only read what I like. Although I had some 2 and 3 stars in there as well.

Sounds good! I just finished the book I was doing for Potions, so that finishes off my contribution to classes. I just picked up a BR for today and have one starting tomorrow, so I'll make sure to finish those before the deadline.

Do you know if the # of books category is continuing through the extension along with the points per page category? I have a few short books planned for within the next week or two, but I can move them to this week if that category ends July 31.

All Classes, Spells and BRs end on 31st July, requested a countdown from the Mods to assist us.

Tri wizard tournament starts 31st July, no banked books can be used.

We now have Characters to spell-out which we can use banked books for and any books not used in Tri-Wizard tournament. I'll post a separate update with what is needed.

Samantha (missymaysreadingnook) | 808 comments Hey everyone! Sorry for being quiet for a while. I hadn't really picked up a book in almost 2 weeks and just now got back in the reading mood.

This week, I'm not really sure what I'm looking forward to. Probably getting more reading done :) Last week, I was looking forward to playing D&D for the first time and that was a ton of fun. Definitely want to keep doing that, but our next meet up isn't for another month due to conflicting events.

I currently just picked up Leviathan Wakes because I wanted to see if it was something I'd be interested in (did a library book haul on Friday) and I'm liking it so far. I think I'm going to put it on hold though for now and try to finish up HP5 before the deadline. I need to get that sucker done! lol

message 684: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments For this week, I'm looking forward to Tri Wizard finally starting :)

I'm trying to finish The Pillars of the Earth (Kingsbridge, #1) by Ken Follett , it's on audio, so it takes me a little longer. I've been listening to it solid all day (while doing chores, outdoor work, grocery shopping, you name it and I'm still listening :D)

I also had a few Elizabeth Hunter books come in from the library, and I love her series, so really want to get through those!

message 685: by Snowtulip (new)

message 686: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Btw, I don’t read any of the other threads but ours - they get too confusing. So I’m a little out of the loop. I don’t know what the triwizard is going to be at all.

message 687: by Kaley (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1976 comments BR I’m trying to finish before those end:
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Just got the audio for this so I’m going to try to hopefully get through this as well since it’s a BR for extra points:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter #3) by J.K. Rowling

Other than that, not sure what I’m planning on reading or listening to. Figure that I’ll just figure that out when the time comes (or when we see what we need for the Triwizard Tournament)

Or

As long as those 9 tasks are done by the end of TT, we can read for the other tasks simultaneously?

Just want to make sure I interpret correctly:)
