And I have just 160 pgs left of Gardens of the Moon so hoping to be done with it by tomorrow :) I've been reading it from Scribd which lists it at 836 pgs - that edition is not listed on GR. Which one should I use? (Here is the link)
Aah, cool!
I was wondering about that KD book since you read all the others as a BR but forgot to ask you about it.
Adding both now :-)

As for the Malazan book, let me check with mods and get back to you. Maybe a librarian can add the edition to GR or maybe there's a special procedure concerning Scribd books, not sure.
Will let you know!

Done!
Re: Gardens of the Moon
One of the captains who is a librarian explained that Scribd usually doesn't get its own edition on GR, but since Scribd uses the ebook ISBN, she suggested going with that edition, which is basically 300 pages less than the one you're reading and a little over 100 pages less than the default edition.
Makes me which I hadn't asked >.>

So I just wasted my time reading something and only getting credit for part of it...
I agree.
But then, that was also a captain response, not a mod response, and a suggestion. In my experience, most ebook editions are rarely truly in line with the actual page number of a book.
I'll have a talk with LaurLa to see how we'll proceed. :-)

True, that is quite nice to see :-)
And I have already signed up for one because I couldn't resist that one hehe.

ATTENTION ATTENTION
Countdown to End of Spells, Classes and Buddy Reads
Spells and Classes are DONE. As in, we completed them all. Not just that their time in the challenge is up ;-)
Any Buddy Reads you still have going, please try and complete them before the Countdown goes to 0. No worries if you can't because the books will still count for pages, but for August, the BR points will unfortunately be gone.
And now for the next step in the game!

Read up on the Tournament HERE.
->You will find important notes, rules, how to play and links for the final Quidditch match.
Read up on the Tournament tasks HERE.
-> All you need to know about the tasks we're going to have to complete. I'll post them in more detail in a bit but please read it all carefully first.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask us! :-)

It's released tomorrow but I need to allow some time to have it delivered and to read the last Cassie book I haven't read yet so that I'm up to date and Ora was willing to wait :-) Always enjoying these series (they're tied together).

Sending out Friend Requests to our newest members - please accept them so I can invite you to THE DUNGEON (dun dun dun) where all the teams of House Slytherin are planning Quidditch matches and will get together to organise the House part of the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
If any of you are NOT in the Dungeon, please give a shout so we can invite you there. Since the third Quidditch match was initially cancelled, I may have neglected to invite one or two of you to the group.
Thanks!

Kathleen wrote: "Ah, I don't know of this series. Does this one have a Barrons or a Curran? Say yes and maybe ill try the series!"
There is a Mircea and a Pritkin :-)
And a Louis-Cesare :-)
Not Barrons style but more Curran style, though not quite.
Touch the Dark is the first one.

I really liked that one but I was pissed with the last book. It felt like having a candy snatched just at the moment you grab it.
Haha, I heard that a lot about the last one in the series.
I've only read the first three so far. Still need to read #4 and #5. In the meantime, I'm dreading the ending after all the comments I've heard ;-)

Kathleen wrote: "What's the plan for the TriWizard tasks? Read as you go or claim a task and read for it?"
That's a question I was going to put to the team later today or tomorrow, but since you've brought it up.. :-)
How would you guys prefer to do it?
I'm sure we're going to get a whole lot of books read in August so we'll be able to fill in more than the required 9 tasks (from 3 different books) but a little bit of planning would probably be a good idea to see which tasks would be the easiest.
It would be a total of 36 books that have to be read for us to be rewarded points for this first part of the Tri-Wizard Tournament.

I have joined other BRs too late Im not sure if someone will go back and chat. At least we'll still get page points 😅
Stacie wrote: "I've got my next 11 books planned out so I can go see what they cover in the tasks if you want."
Yes, that sounds like it could be a good start.
Others might be able to go off of that and we can see which tasks would be the best/easiest to fill.
Personally, anything fantasy/paranormal usually works well for me ;-)

I did! Bad refresh on my part.
Thanks!

Yes, tasks are up. I think we just need to decide which "Book" and set of tasks.to complete first.
LaurLa wrote: "I also prefer to claim tasks and read for them. I think that usually works well. Maybe we could/should cap the number of tasks we each claim - like maybe 2 open at a time. That way we're not holdin..."
Mmhh, I like that idea!

Tasks are all listed in the "Tri-Wizard Tournament Tasks" thread.
Linked in my post earlier on this page :-)

If it was, then Karen was probably in on it and then she'll be back to talk to you about it.

Troll task 1: double LL with The Whispering Hollows
Task 5: I think this works for hand in the pocket but a ruling from the team would be good:
