Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
Tower Teams VI
>
Team Newt Scamander
I'm like Danielle - not much of a planner. I'm often doing more than one challenge, so I try to find books that will fit multiple challenges. I am looking through my TBR for books with page counts just over the next range (eg 161, 351, 501....) and this may be the year I finally read A Game of Thrones!!!
I'm not either; in fact I 'm rather a moody reader but I have a few buddy reads so I'm starting off with Harry Potter. 2nd time trying to read Hammered and I 'm not getting anywhere; perhaps sadly I may have to move on. ( Though I enjoyed book 1 & 2)
Hey guys! Just a quick intro before I run off into the wild that is my life.I'm Maya, I live in TN. I've been a huge HP fan for most of my life, so that's honestly like 89% of why I signed up. I'm super excited for TT since the last one I did was kind of not so much fun for me, but this should be great!
Also, hi to my Cedric people and an extra special hello to Danielle and Sass, we ride once more!
<3
Hey Maya; welcome! Not sure why your last Towers experience wasn't great but this one is sure to be absolutely awesome!
Good morning all, Work is a tiny bit slow and I'm sneaking on GR's... what is everyone currently reading and trying to finish up before our game begins?
I'm reading
and enjoying it. I'm trying to finish
and
but they may get pushed to the wayside!
I listened to Ready Player One on audio and really enjoyed it. I’ve only read the first book in the Iron Druids series. I’ve added The Queen of the Tearling to my TBR.
Currently reading How to Be Safe by Tom McAllister which is excellent. Have two books I’ve been reading a little at a time i’m about halfway through (My Favorite Thing is Monsters and In The Frame)

Heroine of
is a bit gutsy which I like. I've put holds on the next two ( over 400 pages so we should get a few book points from them)
I'm trying to get caught up here, so excuse me if I don't answer some folks.Hey there everyone. Is everyone checked in now?
@SandyL -- I liked that series on audio. I think the narrator, Luke Daniels did such a wonderful job making the story come to life. Maybe something to try.
@Laura -- Ready Player One was another one I thought was better on audio. Wil Wheaton narrator probably had something to do with it. :) But there were some parts that dragged for me a couple of times.
I'm not going to plan my TT books right now. I think I'll just wing it a bit. I've got some other challenges I need to read books for.

Yes, we are all here! If I hadn't signed up for the buddy reads I 'd be winging it and just reading what I wanted. ( Though to be fair, I do want to read all these buddy reads)

Good morning everyone -- well, it is for me!! It looks like I'll be late to the party every day - I'm on the US west coast so you'll all be up and reading while I'm still snoozing away. I promise to try and get up and moving earlier once the challenge starts! I'm reading
right now (I'm a romance reader) and I'm struggling with it. I have to finish it for another challenge and can't wait until I'm done - the characters are very annoying and there are too many inner thoughts rather than action.
Hey teamI've added some info to the reserved posts at the beginning of this thread and I'll keep updating as more info comes out.
Info on Spells came out today - here is the link (it's also on the first page) - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
When you're looking for books to read or doing planning, you can keep these words in mind (lots of vowels!!)
Laura wrote: "Hey Maya; welcome! Not sure why your last Towers experience wasn't great but this one is sure to be absolutely awesome!"
The last one I did was more read-a-thon style, I prefer a challenge with tasks and things to work towards. :)

I've had that book on my radar for a while. Glad to have the feed back. I hate when the inner dialogue is all you get.

Hey everyone....i just finished
, Heather Graham...I was going to start
but I might save that one since its mega pages
And a reminder that the BOM polls are up so if you want to read the June BOM(s) go vote for what you'd like to read
I just realized I'm going to have to go a whole day at work tomorrow without an audiobook. Gasp! Finished one today and don't want to start anything until this starts.
I finished Queen of the Tearling this afternoon and I'm going to wait and start with Harry Potter!!! Go team Newt!!
I finished my book this evening and I'm trying to figure out if I can read a short one just to tide me over?????
Question! Are we posting as we complete books here so they can be tabulated wherever they need to be? And is there a format for posting?
Erika wrote: "Question! Are we posting as we complete books here so they can be tabulated wherever they need to be? And is there a format for posting?"I think there will be a separate thread to post your completed books, and yes, if you all can post when you finish that would be great. I'm waiting to see what the spreadsheet looks like before we decide on a posting format (to make sure we have all the info we need)
HI Everyone, work has been busy this morning I 'm only able to jump on now.
Below is the new thread for posting read books . Sandy can link it when she gets a moment. Please let Sandy have the first post so she can give us our posting format.

Twiddling my thumbs here. LOL I'm not sure what I'm going to start with. Maybe I'll do Harry Potter and something else and have them going at the same time.do I have to sign up somewhere for the Harry Potter so we can get points?

Here's the link to the buddy read for Sorcerer's Stone - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I have the links posted to the other books in Msg 7
Lots of people from other teams are reading these books, so you can read along and comment as you go. When you do your completion post, you'll indicate you participated (not sure yet if we need a link to one of your posts) and then we'll note that on the spreadsheet
I finished my books I had going. It will be a tomorrow for a new book, TT starts midnight my time and I won’t be starting a book then :)

Hahaha, I love your comment!
Hey Newts! As we get ready to start the challenge, just a quick reminder that communication is so important. Please make sure you check in at least once a week, and let me or Laura know asap if something changes in your status that you can't read as much as you thought, if you're going out of town and won't be around to check in, or if real life is getting in the way. We've got a great team and I'm looking forward to reading with you all!!!

Hi Sallie!
Another day closer! Does anyone know what book they are starting with?"
Afternoon! I’m not much of a planner, so don’t know what I’ll read to start off with.
