Yes-That's it! Velveteen!! I would never have remembered that title, seeing no immediate connection to the subject matter. Now I think I remember it being maybe the name of the protagonist.

HOORAY! I'm just sad that he wasn't ever able to publish the sequel. :/ And I hear you - sometimes titles make you scratch your head.
