1991 Technothriller, set in Middle East, features an Iowa Class Battleship named the USS Kansas

I am searching for a technothriller from 1991 which features an Iowa Class Battleship named the USS Kansas. The person who described it to me said it was set in the 'Middle East' which could either mean Eastern Mediterranean, Persian Gulf or Red Sea. If this rings a bell with anyone I would love to know the title/author.

Bump, still looking for this one. I have found a listing of fictional warships online which lists the ship but does not say what book it comes from. There is one clue though, the Kansas has a munition described as follows aboard.

"...1,900lb Mk.144 Improved Conventional Munition with 666 shaped-charge bomblets..."

Could this be a Christian technothriller? If any of this reminds you of a specific author/book I would like to know.
