Lol!

What I'm thinking of is not popular and not multi-culti, just everybody knows its name

message 1579: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1572 comments I was thinking maybe the question we were suppose to ask was if it was a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I'm going to save question 20 for someone else since I'm not very familiar with Ukraine.

Good you've not asked that ;)

Still very wrong line of thought

You are!! I lived one city over in Clawson for a time. I was at 14 and Main and royal Oak is 11 Mile Rd. and main. It’s a great downtown area for people watching and if you’re hungry! It used to have the best shops but sadly all the most interesting ones are now gone. Cute little boutiques/small shops are a dying breed in Michigan. You all should go to the dueling pianos! That’s always fun. Still a few good vintage stores there if you like that stuff —- in Ferndale as well (next city south of R.O.)

Who of your relatives live there? If you need a break lol, come to Downtown Plymouth for a coffee :)

Reading through the comments, I was thinking that!! I missed a lot of chatter on here tonight!

message 1593: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I meant the thing that gone boooom!

The power plant is Chernobyl, the city is Chornobyl

I can confirm that for us Europeans Chernobyl means the power plant.

Edit:
Sorry, Rosa, I posted this message before reading yours...

message 1595: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks for the support, Patrizia :) you should have been playing yesterday!

Do you remember it? Chernobyl? I think for me it's the earliest childhood memory I have. Kneeling on my red sofa, looking outside my window, it was a beautiful day and I could not understand why it should be dangerous to go outside.

I have a new location, BTW

message 1596: by Patrizia, Contributor (new)

Patrizia | 1346 comments I'd like to play, but I connect to GR only 2-3 times a day, so I end up reading a lot of the clues all together. Anyway, yesterday I'd not have guessed the right answer...

About Chernobyl I remember the ban on consuming fruit, vegetables and milk, in addition to all the children who in the following years had come to my country for short periods to "detoxify" from the poisoned air that there was in Ukraine and Belarus.

Denise | 2871 comments Allie - my sister lives in Royal Oak, her daughter in Birmingham, a brother i Grosse Pointe. I know downtown RO used to be so interesting but its fallen down. We've lost so many interesting shops in NY, too. The small, independent shops couldn't weather the downturn in the economy - its true all over the US. It would be fun to come to Plymouth but I can't drive by myself due to some blindness from glaucoma. I've got a lineup scheduled anyway - I grew up in Mich. (east side of Detroit) so lots of people to see when I visit.

message 1598: by [deleted user] (new)

Just as a reminder - I have a new location
