Hippie Christianity's Bombshell: There are two ideas of God in the Bible, represented by two different set of laws --which contradict each other. One is called Jehovah in the Old Testament is represented by Joshua-for the Laws of Moses and Theophilus - representing The Ten Commandments in the New Testament. The theme is the premise that the forgiveness of sin in these laws is the exclusive right of the true God. First we have Joshua: "Then Joshua said to the people, 'you will not be able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy god. He is a jealous god and he will not forgive your transgressions or your sin." Joshua 24.19Representing El Shaddai and Jesus in the New Testament is Theophilus: "Therefore, let it be known to you, Brethren, that through Him, forgiveness of sin is proclaimed and through him (Jesus) everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses." The Lord never contradicts Himself. Jesus came not to destroy the law and the prophets, but to fulfill the law and the prophets, Matthew 5:17-18.
