YA fiction - young boy turns invisible after using an electric blanket {s]

i read this book in 7th grade around 2002-2003. the cover was blue and had the face of the boy from the nose up on the cover.

what i remember is that this boy uses an electric blanket and then wakes up invisible and that there is somebody else like him in the world. pretty sure it was a woman who does all of her shopping and whatnot online. i think it was said that she had her own business that she did from home on the computer as well.
