IvyD1 Lost boy
By:Dave Pelz
Summarize:
This story takes place at a house with an abusive mother and two younger siblings. He is starved and steals food from the school. He sleeps on the cold ground with an army cot. He finally gets free and he don't know how to get to where he wants to go.

Conflict:
A problem develops when david and his mother stop getting along and then she makes him do everything in the house and don't let him eat and things just escalated from there on. In this story there is a man vs man conflict with him and his mother this is a external conflict. This conflict all starts when everything hit a downfall. He always did chores and got burns and other wounds due to mixing chemicals together. If he ever did anything wrong he got in even more trouble. He hardly ate other then table scraps that the family did not eat during dinner like it states on pg 3 “I am lucky to eat leftover breakfast”. So david most the time did not get to eat david was a very skinny little boy. Because of this conflict between david and his mother he was not a healthy kid and needed to get out of his unhealthy environment. This problem continues after david leaves his house because his mother and dad were fighting about him and his mother gave him an option to leave and he took it. Later he got found and took back home even after they notice that he was starved and look and stank bad. Then david's mother got worse from there. As a consequence to this david later got removed out of this during school time like on pg 35 ‘ My teachers and other staff members at Thomas Edison Elementary school interverte and notified the police”. The conflict is resolved when david gets put in a new home that is very safe for him and is healthy.Because of these problems with david and his mother david learned that things can get better even when they seem impossible. Dave pelz wants teen readers to understand that everyone goes through struggles but some may be more intense so don't judge people because people may be going through alot more than you might know.

Review:
In my opinion i think that this book is very good. But only if you are ready to be sad. This book is very sad it is full of bad things that happens to a little boy named david. I like how in the book a lot of the stuff i can relate to. Like on page 8 it states “ Roerva,” he says, “ that's no ways to treat the boy”. I can relate to this because I used to listen to my parents fight about me and my sisters all the time. This book is very interesting and because it talks about real life experiences.

Rebecca Cecil Like this book but very emotionally draining and sad. But it is a true story.
