Braedon Benson In the Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan, Dark magic threatens to destroy the world. The embodiment of this evil, the dark one will use this magic to destroy the world. Rand is the chosen one, the man meant to break the world and seal away the dark one once again. The danger however is with rand as well, destined to go mad with power and destroy the world he must struggle against these urges. Meanwhile the Forsaken Lanfear, one of the Dark one’s disciple will continue to try and seduce rand to join her and rule the world together. He will continue to push towards Camelyn while chasing the false dragon slaughtering all in his wake.

This is the seventh book in the wheel of time series, so far this is my favorite of the series. It expands on many characters except for perrin who is mostly missing. This has been a common occurrence where certain characters are absent from the book. Robert Jordan expands a lot on Mat Cauthen when is my favorite character of the bunch. My favorite part of the book is when, Mat, who is the “bad boy” character type who courts and dances with many girls, is pursued by a woman himself. Giving a nice contrast to the former books, at the end of this he learns to respect women much more than before. The book also adds another character steeped in mystery leaving a want to know who or what it is. I would recommend the series to anyone who likes Game of Thrones or the Middle Earth saga.

Daniel Surprised no one commented here. EotW stands as one of my all time favorite novels. This book is where many faithful WoT readers thought Jordan started to really slow down the plot movement. I thought books eight through ten were fairly dull, but I agree with you this was a good read. Mat was one of my favorite characters as well, and Tylin definitely gives him a run for his money!
