ABANDONED. Fantasy, Coming of age, Unexpected Hero, Sword & Sorcery. Plot: An older brother in a village was suppose to stop the bad guy but instead the younger brother must go on a quest to save his town.

Hello. The book in question would have been pre-2004 as I would have read it during reading time in school.

Its about an older brother who was the classic hero that was destined to stop or kill the bad guy but is unable to do so. The last hope to stopping the bad guy is the younger brother who nobody believes he can do it, including the younger brother himself. The story is told through the younger brothers POV.

Unfortunately , I never got to finish that book and never found out what happened. The first part of the book gives backstory to the evil that needs to be destroyed and a build up to how the older, brave and stronger brother was to stop it. I left off where the younger brother leaves town to begin his finish his older brother's quest to save the town. This was about 1/3rd into the book.

I'm not sure if this was a series of novels or a single book. I know its not much to go on as its your typical fantasy plot, but I hope someone recognizes the book and can help me name that book.
