My books I am most interested in are
The Heather Blazing
Fathers and Sons
I've not read Vargas Llosa so that would be also something I could consider.

I've read 13 of these and 7 of the ones that were omitted.

message 4: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tstan) | 559 comments I’m interested in City Sister Silver and
Summer Will Show.
I recently listened to Tim Curry read Journey to the Center of the Earth, and it was very well done.

I have recently read Time of the Hero and really enjoyed it I think it would be a good book for discussion.

message 6: by George P. (new)

George P. | 725 comments Those in my To-Read list include
2 of the Vargas-Llosas: The War of the End of the World, and The Time of the Hero
Fathers and Sons
Phineas Finn and
The Museum of Unconditional Surrender

I'm planning to vote for the last one, because it's by a Yugoslavian, a woman, has a great 4.02 avg rating, and Diane rated it 4 stars.
I've read 9 of those in the poll.

Gail (gailifer) | 2173 comments I love the title The Invention of Curried Sausage but I don’t think I would appreciate the book. Any of the books by Llosa would be good but I would really like to read Ancestral Voices. I have read excellent reviews about it and it takes place in South Africa. I am embarrassed to say that I have only read 3 of the selections although it goes up if you include those deleted due to length.
