Which was your first.... ?

... book you feel in love with? The book that made you fall in love with reading! Did a friend recommend it to you or did you have to read it because of school? Does it still bring you fond memories?

My first Book was Harry Potter ♥ I started reading it when I was still in Primary school, I must have been about 8-9 years old and it just after the film came out. I remember falling in love with the Magin, the Weasleys, Hogwarts and especially Hermione, who was the first girl I "met" who was unapologetically smart and not obsessed with boys or vanity.

I have very fond memories of running home to read and staying up way past my bedtime, under the covers with my little torch reading until I just fell asleep (oh yes, I was a rebel lol)

I absolutely loved the whole series, but what I find interesting is that now I just cannot get into any series or any fantasy novels.

The babysitters club, first the little sisters then the older group. I was so obsessed with them. I would read a book a day when I was in elementary school. One of my teachers would let me borrow from her daughter collections and I just tore through the whole set. I would get in trouble for reading under my desk when it was time for math.
And on your harry potter selection, it's funny but as a child I could never enjoy sci fi type anything, i have to this day not read harry potter. But now I love sci fi, as far as books, tv, movies everything.

I don't know about the first title, but I distinctly remember becoming obsessed at a young age with the series 'Animal Ark' by Lucy Daniels - I think they were about animals in need and had alliterative titles such as 'Pony in the Porch'. I collected a lot of those, as far as I remember, but they are gone on to someone else now.

Don't remember the first book exactly. I have always loved to read and could read before I went to K. I LOVED Nancy Drew, Choose Your Own Adventure, The Black Stallion, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry...I could go on and on and on.
