Suranjana | 47 comments Thank you Gary. The first two books of Mag Langslow series are really good and funny. Highly recommended.

Thanks, Meg. I love Meg Langslow too and look forward to sharing her antics again.

Anna Catharina Thank you, Mary.
The Max Tudor books are on my TBR far too long.

No worries, thanks for choosing it, I was thinking of trying this series for a while and now is the time it seems :)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments Finished my first today and have my second lined up for tomorrow: Fundraising the Dead (Museum, #1) by Sheila Connolly Let's Play Dead (Museum, #2) by Sheila Connolly . I like everything this author writes!

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments Carbs & Cadavers (Supper Club Mysteries) (Volume 1) by Ellery Adams
Finished my first May selection, Carbs and Cadavers by Ellery Adams. I liked the basic idea of the book, but it was ruined by bad editing. Sentences often didn't make sense as words were left out, grammatical errors abound, some inconsistencies in the story line (although minor) added to the problems. I hope the second in this series has better editing.

Gary Sundell | 794 comments Just started the first of my 2 for this month.

message 67: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments I have finished listening to both of my books for May: Tea, Tiramisu, and Tough Guys (Cape Bay Cafe Mystery, #2) by Harper Lin and Lattes, Ladyfingers, and Lies (Cape Bay Cafe Mystery, #4) by Harper Lin . The Cape Bay Cafe series is a quick and entertaining read, and I like the characters a lot! If I can squeeze it it, I may even go on to the next book (or two) in the series!

Danielle (rainydaysandcozyreads) | 99 comments I had a late start to mine, but I am loving them so far. Happy Mother's day everybody!

message 69: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments Finished my second book for May. Another disappointment. The book was Fit to Die by Ellery Adams. The editing was dismal. There were so many problems it was difficult to read because you kept having to go back to reread a sentence because it didn't make sense. I'll not list this series again. That said, it really was too bad because the plot was pretty good, and I am beginning to enjoy the characters.

message 70: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1534 comments Just completed my two May serial reads:

Mrs. Jeffries Reveals Her Art (Mrs. Jeffries, #12) by Emily Brightwell Mrs. Jeffries Reveals Her Art
Mrs. Jeffries Weeds the Plot (Mrs. Jeffries, #15) by Emily Brightwell Mrs. Jeffries Weeds the Plot

I really enjoy this historical mystery series.

message 71: by Helen (new)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments I've finished my first for this month, The Garden Plot (Potting Shed Mystery, #1) by Marty Wingate .
What I like about this cozy, set in England but written by an American, is that there are no glaring cultural errors, which are often made by American authors writing about English characters.

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments FInished 5 and 6 and am in the middle of 7 of my series (Susan, thanks for the wonderful pick!) Razing the Dead (Museum, #5) by Sheila Connolly Privy to the Dead (Museum #6) by Sheila Connolly and Dead End Street (Museum #7) by Sheila Connolly .

message 73: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina I started my second May book yesterday. Book 1 of the Max Tudor series didn't convince me, maybe book 2 will.

message 74: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments Finished Dead End Street (Museum #7) by Sheila Connolly . Knocked out the whole series in a month. :)

message 75: by Jess (new)

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments Finally finished the first one for May, Aunt Dimity: Detective. I really enjoyed it, except a few questionable behaviours of the protagonist. I might be too old fashioned but other than that, it was a fun and easy reading and I liked the characters as well (though quite predictable).

Aunt Dimity Detective (Aunt Dimity Mystery, #7) by Nancy Atherton

message 76: by Linda (new)

Linda (rudylkr) | 716 comments Finished my second book, Murder Ties the Knot last night. This one also finishes the series for me so it was sort of bittersweet. I like the accomplishment of actually finishing a series but I enjoyed this one and wish there were more books to read.

message 77: by Susan (new)

Susan | 172 comments Both my Colin Dexter's are done. The second had me twisting and turning, fun Last Seen Wearing (Inspector Morse, #2) by Colin Dexter The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn (Inspector Morse, #3) by Colin Dexter

message 78: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments I decided to go ahead and read a third book in my chosen series this month, and I'm glad I did. Americanos, Apple Pies, and Art Thieves (A Cape Bay Cafe Mystery #5) by Harper Lin was a great read. The characters, especially Francesca and Matty, were so well-developed that they seemed like old friends. And I really liked the fact that the crime wasn't just another murder. Americanos, Apple Pies, and Art Thieves is my favorite book of the series so far.

message 79: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 794 comments I am about a third of the way through my first book. Looks like I won't get to book two this month. I am enjoying the first book. Too much RL this month and not enough quality reading time.

message 80: by Suranjana (new)

Suranjana | 47 comments I finally got a chance to finish my Meg Langslow series books. Both were very funny and nice cozies.

message 81: by Jess (new)

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments Finished my second book, Aunt Dimity and the Next of Kin by Nancy Atherton. This time, Lori was at the verge of being hated by me but all went well. Other than here, it was quite nice, a bit different from typical murder mystery / cozy series but I liked it. Think I'll keep going on with this series.

Aunt Dimity and the Next of Kin (Aunt Dimity Series #10) by Nancy Atherton

message 82: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 794 comments It is clear that I won't finish my first book today. Think I'll fimish all my current serial/monthly challenges in June and take a break from challenges, except the yearly ones. I used to be able to knock out a sub 200 page book in 2 to 3 days, seems to be taking longer of late.

I am enjoying the first of the Food Lover's Village books, just hating my lack of quality reading time of late.

message 83: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina Yesterday I finished my second May book A Fatal Winter by G.M. Malliet.
I liked the setting and Luther the churchcat but honestly I don't care for the MC or any other character and the whole book (except one part) was quite boring.
I guess this was the last book I will read in these series.

message 84: by Helen (new)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments I finished my second book while travelling over the weekend. The Skeleton Garden (Potting Shed Mystery, #4) by Marty Wingate is a good read. I think I'll be looking for more of this series.

message 85: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 794 comments Finished my first yesterday. On to book two and then June's two books.
