I just wanted to check in and make sure every was able to get there hands on the book and to see where everyone is. This isn't a contest- relax and enjoy! We are taking this first book slowly, so if you are done already, hang in there. I really want to get some discussion going on this board, so please make comments; share reactions, meet up with someone else who's in the group, visit me in the library, share your thoughts with a co-worker that isn't reading the book. Just jump in- all are welcome to share :)

Kim Nguyen | 2 comments Thanks again for initiating this book club Allison. I am just now beginning Part Two of the book. It definitely is a page turner for me, and I am just in awe of the words written on the pages...

Because I have been to the Holocaust Museum in Berlin, Germany, I find this book pulls a little tight on my heartstrings. I hope everyone is enjoying the book, and for those who do not have a copy yet, I will not post any spoilers yet. :)

I'm so glad that it is meaningful for you! It is a bittersweet experience to enjoy the journey of a book but to feel the pangs of
sadness and empathy in your soul. It is like you are taking in some of the experience and making it your own- the beautiful and the ugly.

I think I mentioned this quote- I find it to be so very true, and it is why I love books (and can't seem to purge them):

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only once."
- G. Martin
