Ian (ianblackburn) If someone could answer for me this question I'd be very grateful. Is it true as it's been said on many sites that its a sequel to the books rather than an interpretation similar to It? I'd rather read the series first anyway, but I'm just curious if when I do watch it if I should be looking at it as a sequel.

Brandon I also remember hearing that the movie was being approached as a continuation of the story, as opposed to a straight adaptation of the series. I haven't actually seen the movie, so I have no idea whether that is actually what happened.

Nancy (paper_addict) | 942 comments Which books are you talking about? I feel like you are talking about The Dark Tower. If so, I thought I had read that the movie is more of another iteration of Roland’s quest for the tower based on the ending of the series.

The TV show, I don’t know if it’s a continuation or if it’s following the books or what.

Ian (ianblackburn) Sorry for being so vague. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t mentioned that it was the Movie to The Dark Tower series. I was wondering because I read that it was basically a sequel and wasn’t quite sure if it was or not. Like I said I haven’t read the books nor have I seen the movie so I wouldn’t know.

Yes, it is meant to be a continuation of the story rather than a direct interpretation of the Dark Tower books.
