Overall Rating: 15/10 ❤❤❤❤❤
Feudal Japan, 2 clans battle it out to the death. Love, hate, betrayal, honour. Everything.
I always recommend this manga series. Even the anime is good, but not better! I have no words to exactly describe this. One could say it is a blend of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Ninja Scrolls. Each character is unique, having traits and abilities of their own central to the plot line. Each life and death brings consequence to future actions. Emotions are high, driving certain individuals to ulterior motives whilst still carrying on the task given to them. The ending was ... predictable but well written. I wouldn't have asked for better or different.
Do I recommend it:

I'm surprised anyone else actually knows this one since I could convince exactly 0 of my friends to watch the anime or read the manga!
I actually fell upon the anime first and fell in love with it (that was a great binge day until I got to the end and didn't know what to do with my heartbroken self). The source material is even better as all the characters are so well fleshed out, and the plotline is superb. Any action has a consequence and I don't know how Segawa-san even managed to keep up with all of them.
Honestly, I fell right into that snake-pit of feels totally unaware, so the warning to everyone is read it, but have tissues nearby...
LOL!!! I had a few people watch it after recommending it. Until they are in front of you and you click play, they won't. Honestly, it doesn't look that interesting or spectacular, and pales to what many people want to watch which is why it is such a gem. I can honestly say I've watched the anime over 5 times, and read a over 10 times. I don't have the guts to read the sequel (or so I saw that was some sequel) as this had perfect element from start to finish.
i am so glad there is someone else out there that loved this too!!!

The story takes place in the year 1614. Two ninja clans, Tsubagakure of the Iga and Manjidani of Kouga, battle each other to determine which grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu will become the next shogun. The deadly competition between 10 elite ninja from each clan unleashes a centuries-old hatred that threatens to destroy all hope for peace between them.
