Ann James | 7 comments Hello everyone, nice to be here, hope you are all well. I've just started reading The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley. Enjoying it, I love family dynamics type novels. Intrigued by the many swimming references - I read somewhere that in Jane Austen novels, swimming has a sexual connotation in its sensuousness & that the women are free & unencumbered whilst in the water. The wild swimming dodging snapping turtles in Palace means I'll probably stick to my local pool though! Would love to discuss this or any other books. take care & happy reading x

Kristine | 284 comments I just finished You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi , Akwaeke Emezi which I thought was an incredible book. So many emotions I felt reading it. This is my review if anyone is interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Now, I am reading No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily , Julia Brewer Daily. Very moving, set in the 1950’s when unmarried women were pretty much forced to give up their babies. It’s historical fiction, but feels very real.

Also, updating Her Hidden Genius by Marie Benedict . Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... I love Marie Benedict and really recommend Her Hidden Genius which is now Free if you have Kindle Unlimited. Just thought I’d let anyone interested know this. I learned so much from this book and really loved Rosalind’s fierce intelligence. She also has a new book coming out about The Mitford Sisters.
