I've only got about 10% into it but so far it's good. Well written and so far, enjoying the plotline tension.
If you're looking for a "joyous read," try The Best Part of Us--top reviews from Kirkus and virtually every reader. I'd love to hear what you think about the story!
It has been awhile, but I read Behind the Fan and thought is was wonderful. It is written by Caroline Walken and it centers on the life (present and past) of an woman suffering from dementia.
It is emotional, but in an uplifting way. I am thinking of reading it again, loved it that much!

I just finished listening to The Cold Millions Here’s a link to my 4.5 star review:

Just finished Shikhandi and other stories they don't tell you - a commentary on queerness in Indian Mythology. Now at a loose end. Looking for something light, easy breezy read
Almost done with The Equivalents: A Story of Art, Female Friendship and Liberation in the 1960s by Maggie Doherty. It's enormously engaging, especially for those who like biography of female writers/artists navigating the difficult waters of creativity, being taken seriously, supporting each other and staying sane while making a living.
I'm reading the Royals series by Erin Watt and I'm almost finished! I am loving it ... next I have the off-campus series by Elle Kennedy
all right, so I know I haven't Mia this week but with my assistant manager quitting on Monday and my admin assistant working from home since March due to covid-19 my office of four is now down to two so I'm trying to get my reading done on my lunch break if and when I get one or when I get home before I pass out on the couch.so to catch up, thank you Sally for the recommend on the best part of us. I have added it to my TBR
@Tommy, I loved beloved by Toni Morrison. she is one of my old faves.
also @Maggie, let me know how you like the equivalents. that is just my type of read. I may add it to my TBR based on your recommendation.
finally, onto my currently reading: I am currently doing a buddy read for when we believed in mermaids by Barbara O'neal. with any luck I'll be done by Monday, fingers crossed
Donna wrote: "Reading “ The Guest List” by Lucy Foley. Not sure how I feel about it. But it is riveting."I loved that one Donna. A lot of twists, reminiscent of Agatha Christie imho.
Vandana wrote: "If I had your face by Frances Cha. Taking a peek into Seoul and the beauty industry"Vandana, I've had that on my TBR for sometime. My mother read it and loved it. I'll be looking out for your comments! 📚

Will keep you posted. I have a feeling that my taste is similar to that of your mother!!
Reading the Invisible Life of Addie Larue. Obsessed. Does anyone have any suggestions that are along these lines in terms of a woman lead with some aspect of magic without involving witches or fairies? I have a few more books lined up but always looking for the next read. Thank you.
Finished The Last Story of Mina Lee last night and I'm listening to The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See. A very emotional heart stopping book. I recommend it
Also started Still Life (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache #1) by Louise Penny. I wanted to see what all the hype was about this author and now I see! I cant put this book down . Mysteries are not my #1 read but I've now become a fan !!!
Laura wrote: "Finished The Last Story of Mina Lee last night and I'm listening to The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See. A very emotional heart stopping book. I recommend it"I agree Laura. I really loved the story but also learning about the history of tea. Every time after I finished the book and I made a cup of tea, I thought of that book.
The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist. Started it because John Grisham wrote the forward, so I figured how could it be bad?
I am now working through The Last Correspondent by Soraya M Laneand Caste: The Origins of our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson
I read her The Warmth of Other Suns which was spectacular. I am sure I will be just as delighted with her newest offering.
