Robin Pearson (goodreadscomrobinwpearson) | 2 comments 23 books!?! Impressive. I’d planned to do all this reading but haven’t been able to focus.

⋆✴✦ Karina ✦✴⋆ (karinastarkwrites) | 2 comments I just finished up Cherry, after having set it down for several months. The character's troubled stint in Iraq is detailed throughout the middle section of the book, and it's quite bleak and a bit repetitive, so I had to take a break. The final third of the book is honestly quite riveting and when I sat down to read last night I had 150 pages left and didn't move from my seat until I'd gobbled them all up.

I'm also in the middle of The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, which is a fantastic audiobook, and Normal People, which is in turns wholly engrossing and borderline boring.

Ooooh, how did you like Find Me? I've read mixed things about it and I haven't even read CMBYN, just watched the movie, but I'm thinking about picking up one of Aciman's other books just for a taste.

Justina | 15 comments "All those women having jobs: hard to imagine, now, but thousands of them had jobs, millions. It was considered the normal thing. Now it's like remembering the paper money, when they still had that. [...]
I guess that's how they were able to do it, in the way they did, all at once, without anyone knowing beforehand. If there had still been portable money, it would have been more difficult. " - The Handmaid's Tale

Everything can be taken away.
Amazing book that puts a lot into perspective.

It's a pity, because the character is very sweet. I had some problems with the writing style....
