UnSexy Spirituality, is an interesting book, for curious seekers, confused seekers, investigative seekers, and atheists, it clarifies any wrong notion we might have on spiritual concepts such as Karma, the afterlife, dreamworld, meditation, etc...14 chapters are equivalent to 14 books. Give it a listen/read, spending 1 hour is worthwhile time on it.
I haven’t been reading the last year and a half. I lost my youngest brother before he turned 30 and my dad 7 months ago all within a 17 month span. I lost a couple of friends in a 2 week span in November. My dad, brother & I were big readers and would read a book and then discuss it. Our own little book club. My heart hasn’t been in it. I strangely found this book journal thing on TikTok where you make your own journal and review books there. So I started making one and my therapist thinks it is a good idea to get me back to something I have loved since childhood. So 2023 will be me returning to reading.
I just finished Faithful Place by Tana French - it was excellent. This morning I placed holds on two books at my local library - The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O'Farrell and When We Were Young, by Susan Meisner and two other authors.

I'm reading At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen - she wrote Water for Elephants which was great - this book is interesting, thought it lost me there toward the middle, but steam is picking up as I get closer to the end and think it will end up being really good - anyone else read this and had the same experience?

I know, I know...I'm the only person who absolutely HATED this book. I gave it one star and wrote this rating:
This book was really not my cup of tea. It was way too graphic and unnecessarily gory and loaded with gratuitous sex. Yes, there was a plot full of mystery and suspense but I pretty much had that part figured out early on. This is the first book I've read by the wildly popular author Colleen Hoover and although the reviews of this book claim it is quite different than her usual stories I'm just not sure if I want to read any of her other books.
Just finished
The Resort by Sarah GoodwinSarah GoodwinA fantastic 5* read, perfect to snuggle up with on a cold winter's night

Yesterday I finished reading A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens, and that ending with that last quote was so gooood that I cried. Now, I am finishing Ven by Jane Teller and the writing style is so refreshing that is making me love her even more ❣️
Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
Reading the Biloxi Boys. I am having a hard time getting in to it! Should I continue?? About half way through!!
As an archaeologist, Byzantinist and a historian, I tend to read a lot of nonfiction based around my own research. But I'm currently reading the film script Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino. I found that reading published film scripts can add new dimensions to the films I watch. However, these days I am more into writing novels than reading them.As a writer from Northern Ireland, I wanted to take my research to a new audience and the result is my new novel, a thriller, Nazareth Quest, which received a very good review in the November issue of Mensa Magazine. It is currently available to read on Kindle Unlimited, or to buy from only $9.99.
Nazareth Quest is a tense thriller set in Israel. I think it combines the best of the CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) franchise together with archaeology.

Also, some nonfiction that might appeal. My two The Man From Mensa volumes offer a history of the high-IQ society not freely available to outsiders, albeit the focus is primarily upon British Mensa, which was founded in Oxford during 1946. In May 2023 Irish Mensa will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
