At the request of the Fleming estate, Horowitz wrote Forever and a Day to introduce us to 007 and the woman who explains why she orders martinis "shaken, not stirred."

I think I have to read this , I read the original Ian Fleming's James Bond novels when I was in college and really liked them because of the pace, style and action and James Bond's vulnerability- which I saw nothing of in Moore's Bond. I checked your review and I have marked it as To read :)

Great, Rabiraj - hope you aren't disappointed. It seemed to have the same pace to me, but I'm not sure I remember them well enough now!

Not the second, sadly. 3★

Currently reading The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender and The Call of Cthulhu. Loving the first, it's just magical. The writing has captured me completely. And liking the latter so far :)

Sounds like Milkman might not have been quite to your taste, right?

No Friend But the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison by Iranian Kurd refugee Behrouz Boochani is already winning awards.

Try It Was Always You. I read it 2 months ago. It was sweet and light. Made me feel better. (It can be read as a standalone).

Thanks for the recommendation! I added it to my tbr, and I'm gonna look for it on my next trip to the library :)

Just Finished Vigilance.
This was a good read overall. Weird but interesting and engaging too.
My review for Vigilance-3.75 Stars. It could have been a 4 star so easily but a thing or two didn't sit well with me.

Right now I'm reading The Subprimes and Song of the Current. I have been trying to get through my re-read of The Red Pyramid for what seems like years (I barely remember what happened in this one and I want to finish the series cuz I'm such a fan of all Rick Riordan's other works).
@Cyn I alternate too, especially when a book is slow. If it's fast-paced, it's devoured rather quickly.

Oh yay! I've re-read pjo many times and have just finished a re-read of the series last month.
I wouldn't really recommend The kane chronicles. It's an average adventure with Egyptian mythology woven in, but what annoys me is how, when Carter and Sadie are telling the story, they interrupt each other

Balls: It Takes Some to Get Some is both fascinating and funny!

Something Happened in Our Town: A Child's Story about Racial Injustice by Marianne Celano and others is a new children's picture book to read WITH them about cops shooting blacks, slave history, and intolerance of foreigners.
