I recommend White Fang. It's amazing.

message 57: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) I absolutely love the Stormlight Archive and Riyria. Are you in Michael J Sullivan’s private group?

Kingkiller and Red Rising were pretty good for me. I haven’t started Wheel of Time. I’m kind of afraid of the commitment.

message 68: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments If you’re looking for straight romance, the Bride Quartet (4 books) is sooo sweet and romantic. If you want YA romance, I thought 96 Words For Love and The Fault in Our Stars we’re both really good.

message 69: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) Sam wrote: “does anyone know any good romance books?”

My favorites are
Bliss, Remembered
Switched
Reflection

I don’t even like romance, so you know they got to be good!

Linnie (themotherbirdy) I'd recommend Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger! Most of the reviews are good, but I've read some really bad reviews about it-- and just warning you, the bad reviews are ALL wrong.

Oh, alright, so you mean that there's more to the characters but not to the scary part? I just think the start of the movie was terrifying and the rest just fell flat with me. Maybe if the story made more sense (maybe it will in the book). I will read Stephan King (I haven't yet) and I have planned to start with The Shining and then I'll give this a try too :) I hope The Shining is good.

Thank you for the clarification and the detail, Anamarija :)

How about something like Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan? I also liked Sourdough by the same author. The first is a mystery and the second is a bit mysterious and both have a touch of the supernatural as well as being a bit less than 300 pages. I liked them!
