I am waiting for Downton Abbey movie. It would be easier and fun to watch a prequel. That way don't have to gather all those now-busy actors.

Lol . . .not sure that's a verb here in the U.S., but I assume this is the equivalent of "bar hopping" here . . .

Hmmm, when I put the two things head to head like:

books versus a gourmet meal

Honestly, books exceeds every other activity.

Yeah, I love my immediate family more, but if I think about

books vs. spending time with a specific family member

Um, well, it's seriously a very close call. Like if I had to pick one to vanish forever, I'd obviously pick books, but reading an hour versus chatting for an hour with an immediate family member . . .well, yeah, I think reading wins.

Activities that come close though are: eating gourmet food and watching baseball. In fact, I do pick watching baseball over reading quite often, but again, if I had to have one of those activities vanish from my life forever, it would be baseball.

No idea for Outlander yet, but The Handmaid's Tale is in the last week of April. I think the 25th in the US, and the 29th in Canada, on Showcase (or Bravo? I always mix up those two channels for some reason!)

Amy | 12949 comments The whole world is telling me how much I would love crazy ex-girlfriend! I’m extremely behind on my books as well as my TV, due to throwing a bar mitzvah in a little over eight weeks. Then maybe when the summer hits and I can catch up a little bit, crazy ex-girlfriend is absolutely high on my list.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Anita, thank you for being so candid. When analyzed in the terms you used, I agree... and feel less alone. :)

Joi, though I do not watch Jeopardy regularly, I do really enjoy it when I see it on. Have you watched Cash Cab? I like that one also.

Jason Oliver | 3050 comments All the tv shows. wow! I havent even hears half of them.

I loved Mad Men. My wife watched I Love Lucy almost nitely.

I grew up watching all the sitcoms of the late 90s and early 2000. You name it, I've probably seen them all. Still Standings, Yes Dear, Everybody Loves Raymond, and on and on. When I moved out on my own in 06 I kinda quit tv other than a show here or there.

I watched the first season of The Crown and haven really gotten into season 2. I love My Next Guest on Nextflix. Anne with an E, can't wait for season 2. Then I will watch a documentary on Netflix occasionally. Add in sports and that's all my TV.

Elise (ellinou) I used to watch hockey games almost every night (Habs fan here!), but when I moved out from my parents' in 2016 I prioritized my TV shows, so no more hockey (plus the Habs suck terribly at the moment, so it's not like I'm even tempted to go back...)

Now I just have F1 as a sport, but as races are usually in the morning (for me with the time difference), they don't interfere with my TV. F1 is one of the rare things that bump reading though, since I always read during breakfast, but when there's a race I have breakfast in front of the TV, so no book on those Sunday mornings.

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments @LibraryCin- Outlander is on Starz, and I don't think has a release date. Based on past history, I'd guess at the earliest September. I don't even watch this show but my mom does, lol.

@Jason- YES. I've always dreamed of getting into a cab, and having it be the Cash Cab. I'll be in NYC for a couple days in October, maybe my dream will come true. If you are on reddit there is a user on r/jeopardy who posts episodes daily to watch if you are interested.

I am also on the LOVE side of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It's a musical show, Amy and covers lots of "adult" topics- suicide, depression, metal illness- but somehow in a light and fun way most the time.

Also putting out there that I LOVE the food network- Chopped, Worst Cooks in America, Kids Baking Championship, Guys Grocery Games, Cutthroat kitchen. Basically all my TV is food related lol.

Also- Westworld, Silicon Valley, Santa Clarita Diet, Orange is the New Black, and A LOT of sports.

Thank you, Cheryl! I definitely embrace my natural introversion though oddly no one thinks I am an introvert. But when I get asked questions like this, I definitely know I am! Glad we are simpatico!!! I really find reading to be one of the great pleasures in life, and I wish I could squeeze it in a lot more often than I do.

I have the same problem. I'm a bit shy and an introvert, but people see me with my friends and think I'm extroverted (and sometimes stuck-up). I actually had an employee tell me that she didn't want to report to me because I wasn't friendly (she happened to seat near a friend of mine, so she saw me talking to her but I didn't take time to talk to the other people in the aisle).

Thanks, Ellie! I'm glad I asked. That's coming up soon, so I'll have to find out what channel I need to add! :-)

Thanks, Joi! In Canada, it will be a different channel, but if it's September, I will have a bit of time to figure it out. :-)

Charlie Ravioli (charlie_ravioli) | 611 comments My wife, children and dogs (current and past). My wife asked me once (unfairly might I add) if I would give up books for the rest of my life if I could spend one more day with my first dog (now 8 years since he past). In my best politician voice, I said “I don’t answer hypothetical questions” and quickly changed the topic. I’ve never answered the question and hope I never have to.
