Elizabeth (Alaska) Because of a conversation in another thread, I was made aware there are a number of series made up entirely of magazine issues. I'd just like to have verified

1. that these are not series.

2. this manual section means that magazines made up almost entirely of short stories can be added to GR without ISBNs/ASINs.
periodicals without ISBNs but substantially similar to books (e.g., perfectbound literary magazines), although they should be typed as "periodical" in the work: media type field

Elizabeth (Alaska) A few of the series in question (but if not series, should have listopia create rather than simply deleted):

The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction Series

Uncanny Magazine Series

Lightspeed Magazine Series

Nightmare Magazine Series

Steampunk Magazine Series

Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine Series

Clarkesworld Magazine Series

Kappa Magazine Series

And others. Also found a Penthouse Magazine series which I think I'll just delete after deleting the editions.

Philip (burnnerman) | 5912 comments #1 My understanding is that is correct that they are not series
#2 I think they only classify as being on GR if they were "perfectbound" or they are Kindle editions, I could be wrong on that though.

Under those thoughts a large chunk should be deleted, and I would think any that still have valid editions left should be turned into a listopia with the series deleted.

This is not a thread regarding deleting series, but a question regarding whether these should be series and what procedure should follow any decision.

If anyone wants to find such series, they can go to

www.goodreads.com/series, click to get the search field and enter "magazine".

Agreed on both these points. Most magazines are not perfectbound, including many which are primarily composed of short stories and novellas.

Thank you, Rivka. It is unlikely that I would have access to most of them, so wouldn't know whether or not they are perfectbound. However, I'll see what I can do to research and/or open threads for further input.
