Holly | 3 comments Hi there bibliophiles!

I saw a book at my local library. I swear to goodness it referenced (in the subtitle, jacket description?) the phrase "path to hell" or "road to hell." I believe it was authored by a preacher or someone with another religious affiliation.

The book was not straight self-help, more of a mix of narrative nonfiction with self-help and spirituality mixed in.

Basically, the premise is how people experience trauma in their lives (divorce, grief, illness) and how those experiences can be/must be used to inform the present.

I *think* it had an all-text cover (no pictures of people) and it was possibly blue. The version I saw was hardcover.

El | 502 comments Could it be Descent into Hell by Charles Williams? He was a theologian. This is fiction, though. I haven't read it, but have a copy on my shelf at home. (Note there are several different editions with different covers, so the one that pops up may not be the cover you saw at the library. For example, the one I have at home is all red.)

Looks like a great read, alas - not the one I saw. Thanks, though!

I'm pretty sure it didn't have "hell" in the title, but perhaps in the subtitle or jacket description.
