Spaceship crash lands with a team that meets humanoid alien race that eat cerebral/spinal fluid and sometimes become addicted

Hey all, I'm trying to remember the title of an old book that I read. I think it was written in the 70s or 80s but I"m not sure. It was about a team of people (I think there was a botanist, archaeologist, anthropolgist, and some others) who crash land their spaceship on an alien planet. On the planet, they find a city with a race of humanoids, and some of these humanoids crack open other peoples' spines to it. I think in the book the fluid might have been blue but I can't remember. There was also a raunchy scene in it so it was definitely not a kids book. If you think you know please help me out! I've googled this so much lol.
