Blu3jay Sorry for putting this in the wrong place. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to start a general discussion without choosing a title.

I read a children's mystery as a kid in the mid-80s. The heroine was a young girl who loved Agatha Christie novels. All I really remember is that she discovered a fake Degas because some of the colors in the painting were wrong. Anybody have any clues? My Read-to-a-Child partner is into mysteries and I remember enjoying that book; I was hoping to read it to her.

Onion Budgie Could it be Matilda’s Masterpiece by Mary Anderson, later reprinted as The Mystery of the Missing Painting?

Blu3jay That's it, thanks! I didn't recognize the story from the review I read, but that's definitely the book cover.

Onion Budgie Oh good, I'm glad we struck lucky!
