G. Buckner (gracelynbuckner) This is for my WIP, To Make My Way. My word count is currently around 6,700 words, and I'm working on it in Camp NaNo this month.

Well, I was originally planning on about 25,000 for this month, but then my life got crazy and sad and stuff, so I'm aiming for about 20,000 for Camp NaNo, and 40,000 when all's said and done. :)

G. Buckner (gracelynbuckner) Here's a snippet from what I wrote last night:
“Any pretty girls catch your interest?” Franklin asked, jabbing his fork into a pile of beans.
“None to fit the bill,” I replied.
“Any that wouldn’t suit the highly esteemed Mrs. Smith?” he asked, rolling his eyes. Ma glared at him.
“Perhaps.”
“Gilbert…”
“Fine. I met a girl Washington Square Park. But we parted on less than perfect terms.”
“A lover’s quarrel, eh?”
“Franklin!”
“Just guessing!”
“For your information, we had only met twice. And she certainly didn’t think of me in that way.”
“What’s she like?” Ma asked, refusing to look at me.
I sighed. “Pretty, but not like the society girls. She’s Russian, but she’s fluent in English. She writes too.”
“A Russian who writes! Sounds like your kind of girl,” Franklin laughed.
“She sounds wonderful,” Ma said, smacking Franklin on the arm.
“I told you. We parted on less than favorable terms.”
“And I told you! A lover’s quarrel,” Franklin mumbled.
“Franklin James Dellard! Keep your mouth shut.”
I stood from the table, rolling my eyes and picking up my plate.
“I’m all for it! Gil needs a woman to straighten out his life. Maybe talk some sense into him, too. Uh-oh. If she writes, she’s liable to be the same way. Bad business, this.”
Ma and I sighed in unison,

G. Buckner (gracelynbuckner) Since Wednesday morning, I've written around 900 words. Oh, and the cover on Goodreads is not the cover that I'm planning on using. I'm working on getting that fixed. Anyhow, here's the new cover:

G. Buckner (gracelynbuckner) I meant to update this, but it slipped my mind. Anyhow, I have just over 10,000 words. I don't think I'm going to reach my Camp NaNo goal, but oh well.

G. Buckner (gracelynbuckner) Hey there!

It's been forever since I updated this, but I actually got to around 20,000- but then I saw some crazy problems and starting completely rewriting. So I'm around 2,300 words. And I'm handwriting it all, so it'll be a long journey. We'll see! :)
