I did like Emily's younger brother and I think Frank and Collins are a great addition, Collins seems very complex and has different sides, like his public side and his worries over Frank and his fear of heights. Seeing how she ignored Emily when she was with Sam and even had him come to a night she was meant to be spending with Emily made me so mad. Sam was so rude to Emily too, and Sloane didn't stand up for her. Emily is getting more confident and likeable, and I like Dawn and Frank a lot. The play scene was super cheesy but cute. Benji was pretty cute and what she said about not being kissed for 2 months when she kissed him makes me really curious about her history with Gideon. I also ship Dawn and Collins now! :) (hide spoiler)]

Sloane's story is starting to seem a little sad now, she's obviously been neglected a lot, but Emily seems happier without her with Frank, Dawn and Collins. Even Beckett is happier without Sloane around because Emily spends more time with him.

I just started this today and besides the extremely long chapters I'm really loving it so far!

I loved this chapter. I was laughing so much throughout it and then my family members were just looking at me like "What's wrong with her?"

I would love to see Emily and Frank hang out more further along in the story.

I love Gideon but I think for some reason I'm not supposed too?

I think maybe her parents had some last minute trip and she decided to leave the list and not answer her phone to force Emily to stand on her own and branch out a little. It's okay! I'm actually on vacation at the moment for spring break and won't be back until after next week and I don't have the book with me so I'm not going to be able to read anything before I get back. I did finish the first two chapters before I left though and I was really enjoying it and I can't wait to get back home so I can read more!

Chapter 2 (finally!) So I was really slow starting this, it wasn't at all that I didn't like it, it was because it was chilly out and I didn't want to read a summer book when it was chilly. Weird logic but Oh well. I was planning on reading more of it yesterday because it was gonna be high 70s/low 80s but I ended up getting recruited for yard work for most of the day. I did get some reading down in the evening and this morning and finally got the first two chapters done.(view spoiler)[So far I am really liking this book. I feel like i'm pretty similar to Emily, I'm very shy and self-conscious and definitely draw strength from my best friends being around (which is what she seems to do) though, I will admit I have gotten a ton better at this over the years and am really proud at how far I have come and cannot wait to see how Emily (hopefully) starts to become more comfortable around other people without Sloane. I;m also really impressed by Beckett because I wish I had the guts to scale a house or sit on the door frame the way he did but I would honestly be wayy to scared of getting hurt (I have been on top of the roof before when I was a kid but it was via ladder, still pretty cool though!) I'm really intrigued and can't wait to see what happens next! (hide spoiler)]

I totally understand that logic since I'm the same way but it's warm where I'm at so I'm trying to read all of the summer books but now and then I will read a fantasy book. Right now I'm in the mood for fantasy because I watched The Silence on netflix. Very good movie!

I really love Beckett and I wish I could be like him but I'm more like Emily too like you said but I also feel like over the years I have gotten better with my anxiety and learned to cope with it.

(view spoiler)[It was pretty predictable, but then again, most contemporaries are so I'm not really mad about that. I completely relate to Emily except for being scared or horses. Horses are amazing, I love them, I can't comprehend how someone if scared of them but then again I live in the country and grew up around horses. I kinda want someone to make me a list, I think that would be super fun. (Though I would flat our refuse to go skinny dipping or kissing someone.... hugging a Jamie would be easy though, I do it every day!) I am curious however, if Emily counted the attempt to steal Sloane's sign as stealing something because she didn't technically steal it..... other than that tiny detail, I loved it. the romance was super cute! i don't know what else to say, I just really loved it! It's fine! I'm almost finished also. I just haven't had the time to update! I also love Second Chance Summer which is what I'm also reading it right now. The only book that I couldn't really get into by her was Amy and Roger's Epic Detour.

I started and right off the bat related to Emily. That was terrifying for me considering the mood the book starts out with.

Beckett is super cute and the relationship between Emily and Frank melts my heart. (view spoiler)[ I really liked how we saw the flashbacks of how Sloane and Emily met while she was running. This is important to Emily because she uses it to get her stress out and now Frank wants her to teach him. Also, her two other tasks were really funny and I am glad that she is slowly coming out of the shell. I wonder how she will finish her other tasks and the relationship with Frank will progress. Chapter 5-6:

(view spoiler)[ Similar to my last update, Emily is slowly getting out of her shell. Her attempt at trying to steal the sign was so funny and I am happy that Frank was there to save her and that their friendship is blossoming. They spent almost the whole night at the beach and I thought she was gonna complete the task of skinny dipping. I have a feeling that Frank might be developing feelings cause when she kissed that random stranger, he wasn’t that happy. I also like how Collins helped her with that task and wants to help her with the other ones as well. Dawn is so sweet!

Also! The living room theatre where both her and Frank played the main characters of bug juice. I got super excited when they almost kissed. THE CAMEO of Amy’s mom and that Amy and Roger are still together makes my heart super happy. That Charlie is in a better place made me happy as well. I can’t wait to see if Taylor or Henry make a cameo in this book as well. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I am learning so much about Emily and she is getting out of Sloane shadow and living her best summer. She is making new friends and getting closer to Dawn, Collins and Frank. She is now 3 tasks done and the story of them are so funny. She stole Frank's neighbour towel on the fourth of July and everyone was hyping her up. My favourite scene was her sleeping under the stars with her brother and he goes "is this all gonna change once Sloane comes back" and that broke my heart. I hope their relationship continues to grow. I also love her alter-ego Penelope and she went to a bar and saw a live band. I wonder how Sloane will fit into this if she ever comes back. (view spoiler)[ Emily is really coming out of her shell and that makes me happy she is making new friends and not sulking like she was in the first half of the book. It’s Frank’s birthday and she was about concur her fear of riding horses when she got a call to go pick up Frank girlfriend but she didn’t end up going. I think Frank and Emily will either kiss or get together.
We also learned about the past history of Emily and Gideon, I felt bad for him cause he keeps retracing the design on his arm that she drew. I think he still has feelings and he is hurt by what she did.
Emily also faced her fears of riding a horse. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11-13:

(view spoiler)[ Emily is almost done finishing the list and I wonder when she completes it, how she is going to find Sloane and tell her everything that has happened. She has danced until sunrise and has gone skinny dipping. She says that her feelings for Frank have began to develop that she has been ignoring him up until she promised him to go to the gala. Also, something has been going on with Collins and I really hope that everything is okay. He saw Emily get out of the tent when they did the indoor camping so I don't know if he thinks something happened.
We also get a flashback of how Sloane's parents treated her and honestly didn't seem to care what she did, which I find really sad and it shows you how the relationship with your parents can really effect who you become when you are older.
We are down to the last four chapter and I cannot wait to see how this book ends. (hide spoiler)]

She was a different person by the end of it, which made me really happy and that their friendship will last for a little. Also, happy about how the relationship between Emily and Frank happened. It was super cute. The only thing I am disappointed is that we didn't get any closure to what happened to Dawn and Collins. Do they become friends with Emily again? how is their relationship going?
