ABANDONED. YA 2006 - Book about a boy who had a bike possessed by a ghost horse

I read this book around 2004-2006. I believe we found it at a Scholastic book fair. The cover showed a boy riding a bike with a semi-transparent black horse galloping next to him. The book was about a boy who went to stay with his aunt and uncle on a ranch/farm for the summer. Their horse had recently passed away. He used an old bike that was on the ranch and it turned out to be possessed by the benevolent spirit of the horse. I think at one point it saved him from a dangerous situation.
