Hi! I’m Bekah and I live in Guernsey. I’m a trainee lawyer and absolutely love crime novels. My favourite author, perhaps controversially, is Jo Nesbø, and I’m currently working my way through the Harry Hole series. I’m Norwegian by blood and my aim is to be able to read the novels in their native language.Always open to recommendations and excited to see what this group will bring me!
Hello everyone I love reading crime and thriller books whether they are fiction or non fiction. Just finished reading The Maid and my other favourite authors are Peter James Sally Hepworth and Arthur Conan Doyle

Hi all! I’m new here!I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing but I’ve really picked up my reading since losing my mom to breast cancer last year. I think it’s a coping thing.
Anyways, I love a good mystery book. I mostly read thrillers, psychological, mystery, horror, crime, and all that good stuff.
I hate romance novels but can handle a little romance. Skim over all rated R scenes. I just think there’s subtle ways to write these scenes and not all authors do. If I wanted erotica I’d watch porn.
I prefer hardcover copies of books but sometimes read paperbacks and use my Kindle. There’s so many good books on Kindle but I hate reading from a tablet. I have to feel the book in my hands, smell the pages, etc. You can find me rolled up in a blanket with my reading light on.
Always looking for more friends (and more good books) on here so if you think we’d like each other’s book lists, friend me. Even if we might not you still can :).

Hello Heather I’m sorry about your mother and yes reading does take your mid off things. I’ve been reading lots of Stephen king novellas and really enjoying them. Like you I used to read a lot when I was smaller but then after a time it phased out until last year when I got into ebooks. I have to use ebooks because of my M.S. if anyone wants to add me as a friend feel free.
@Heather: Welcome and I'm sorry to hear that, may she RIP. I'm glad reading can help with that as I'm the same way when it comes to romance, I can't read them at all. I'm more into horror, mystery, suspense, and thrillers. I don't mind a little romance here and there but yeah, I know what you mean.I entirely read ebooks but on my Kindle. I'll read on my iPhone if I'm out and about and have to wait anywhere but will always love reading a real book every now and then :-)
Looking forward to future discussions with you!
Hello all!My name is Ali, I live in Oklahoma, US and I am a big fan of true crime novels, horror, fantasy, essentially anything lol. I’m 24, I live with my boyfriend and my dog. I work in hospitality for the time being though I’m contemplating going back to school, I just don’t know what I would go back for. I like writing but it’s been awhile since I’ve sat and done serious writing. I’m fairly new to Goodreads, but it’s been great to help keep track of my TBR and to help discover new books and authors. (:
@Alicia: Welcome and very awesome! I also love horror, mystery, suspense, and thrillers! That's pretty cool you're thinking about going back to school, nothing wrong with that and hope everything falls into place for you :-)
Hello, my name is Myra and I am new to this group. I recently came out of retirement to work part time from home as a telehealth nurse. I love reading and generally enjoy mysteries, although I’m trying to read some of the classics and historical fiction. Because I have hundreds of books to read, I bought myself a 2023 planner just for books. I am going to use it to organize my reading and try to meet some goals. This is one of my New Year’s resolutions, LOL. I look forward to getting to know you and to reading along with you.
@Myra: Welcome and very cool you work as a telehealth nurse, much respect! I love the idea of a 2023 planner as that's a wonderful New Year's resolution :-D
