Christopher Emery | 1 comments Hi, I'm Chris (Christopher Beauregard Emery) and I just published my second book: "White House Usher: “Who Killed the President?”" It's
a mystery novel, takes place in one of the more unique settings in existence: the White House executive residence, home of the first family. Murder, romance, deceit, and a suspenseful struggle all ensue as the main character struggles to solve the case. I used my in-depth knowledge of White House history and the inner workings of the private residence to create a thrilling murder mystery from an insider’s perspective. Thanks!

Becca | 1 comments Hi, I'm Becca. I've been a goodreads member for a long time now, but the pandemic has motivated me to start getting more active on here and even start a book blog!
Primarily, I stick to mysteries/thrillers but I also like to read other genres (pretty much anything except horror!)
I'm still trying to get my blog all put together, but if you're interested in seeing what I've read so far, please feel free to check it out at https://beccasbookshelves.com/

I'm looking forward to adding to my never-ending TBR pile :)

Eleanor (ellie_grace) | 75 comments Hi I’m Eleanor from England. I like a classic novel and my favourite modern genres are crime, thrillers and sagas, my favourite writers are Charlotte Bronte, Michael Connelly and Elena Ferrante. I’m new to Good Reads but am looking forward to joining in on some group reads and I hope people find my posts interesting!

Chad Hey all, just recently getting into reading some mysteries. I’m currently reading Murder on Black Swan Lane and really enjoying it.

message 506: by Judith (new)

Judith Eiler | 2 comments Hello, I’m new to this group. I’m a life long reader (a long life). I am retired now, but I have been a teacher, university professor, an attorney, a judge and a mediator. I read 4-7 books a week. Being something of an eclectic reader mysteries are not my only reads.
I enjoy David Bishop, Nick Pirog, and, of course, Agatha Christie.
My wish is that someday both reading and chocolate will help one lose weight.

Matt (mattreadsabook) Hi All! I'm Matt (pronouns they/them). I live near Boston, Massachusetts and have a background in chemistry. I prefer books that are NOT chemistry.

I mostly read fiction (mystery, fantasy, thrillers, young adult, some horror, manga), and I've recently gone through my first memoir kick.

My favorite book is It by Stephen King.

My favorite series is obviously Harry Potter Collection. PS - I'm a Ravenclaw.

Nice to meet you all! Hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Jeff Goostrey | 3 comments Hello all, new to goodreads and have joined this group along with a couple others that reflect my genre interests and bookshelves. Looking forward to exploring chats and discussions. Currently rereading Laidlaw (Jack Laidlaw, #1) by William McIlvanney and looking forward to reading the others in the series.

Rachel Lynne | 1 comments Hi, I'm Rachel Lynne and I write cozy Southern mysteries, (I feel like I've just virtually stood and made a confession in support therapy).

I live just outside of Savannah, Georgia and love to read mysteries, be they cozy, detective, or true crime. I am also slightly addicted to British TV mysteries ...

Camisa | 100 comments Hello All! My name is Denise and I live in North Carolina. I love reading good mysteries and presently have four started. I enjoy the stories that keep me guessing until the very end and get disappointed if the author reveals too much too early.
Hope everyone has a great day. Stay safe out there!

message 511: by Marie (new)

Marie Hi all! I am Marie and I am from Florida. I have been around on Goodreads since 2011 and didn't realize this group was here. I like all different kind of genres - horror mainly but I love crime thrillers, mysteries, true crime, etc. just as much. I am happy to be here and looking forward to exploring the threads within this group. :)

Lisa Bianca (lisabianca) | 4 comments Hi, my name is Lisa, I'm from Australia. I've been on Goodreads for quite a few years but have not got into groups before. I joined a couple and have been enjoying having a bit of a guided reading list. And reading books I would not have known about if not for the group reads. This group is one of my favourites and I really enjoy reading what other people think of the books. It seems a bit more relaxed this way than doing actual reviews of a book.

Andrea Thomas (athomas0925) | 2 comments Hi all,

I'm Andrea, mother, wife, and dog mom. Got to quit working for Walmart in May of this year and got to work with my husband full time mowing grass. That has left me with LOADS more time for reading which I love! I'll be off this winter which leaves me more time to read as well. I'm finding myself lost in books again which is amazing.

Crime/Mystery and the like are some of my favorite genres and I find myself switching between actual books, kindle and audible. Happy to be here and excited to find my way into more crime and thrillers!

Welcome Lisa! While there are many incredible mystery/thriller authors, in my opinion, you can't go wrong with the classic authors. Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), Agatha Christie (Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple), Dorothy L. Sayers (Lord Peter Wimsey). I read my first Wimsey book recently and really enjoyed it.

Welcome Jim, gotta love retirement! We have four adult children and five grandbabies, unfortunately, they are scattered all over the country. Since I consider myself retired I've learned to bake bread and have read some long novels that I didn't feel I had time for in the past. I think Les Mis has been my favorite so far.

gabrielle ;) My name is Gabby and I just started reading again these past few months. I really enjoyed One of Us is Lying and the Inheritance Games. I just started posting on GoodReads and am looking for people who love reading like me. I am currently reading Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward, but this is for a school assignment. I really like it though.

message 528: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Barringer (Ravenmount) (ravenmount) Hi. I'm Jamie, and I read a LOT of crime/mystery genre books. I usually get into a particular author and read a lot of their books back to back, especially if they wrote series, and if possible I try to read series in order. This year I've been reading Georges Simenon, Donna Leon, Henning Mankell, and PD James. I also really enjoy Jussi Adler Olsen, Rennie Airth, Ngaoi Marsh, Dorothy Sayers, Susan Wittig Albert, Arthur W. Upfield, and Simon Brett. I adopt a lot of free books from our library's free-books shelf, especially random mystery/crime books, so I can try new authors once I finish the ones I've been enjoying. I have no idea which authors I'll latch onto next, but I always find new ones eventually.

Kristi Hello there. I'm Kristi, and I read a lot of different genres. I work full time so I don't have as much time to read as I would like. I've been married for 15 years and have 2 beautiful orange tabby cats. I am currently reading Phantom Evil by Heather Graham. I'm planning a new challenge for 2022, with a goal of reading a mystery set in every state in the United States.

message 538: by Steve (new)

Steve Gans (httpswwwfacebookcomstevegans10) | 2 comments Hi all! My name is Steve Gans and I write suspense thrillers. My first novel, "Israfel Rising" was published in 2020 and is about a serial killer in Chicagoland who's recreating murders from Edgar Allan Poe stories. My second book, "Israfel Fallen", was published in 2021 and concludes the story begun in the first book. My forthcoming novel, "The Eight Legs Of The Devil", will be published in early 2022. All three feature my main character, Detective Emmaline Sullivan, a potty-mouthed Welsh redhead who sees every case through to the end. My books are meant for adult readers only and contain strong language, inappropriate cop humor, sex, and violence. 2022 will be my 29th year working in Corrections, but along the way I've also edited and published a magazine, been an FM radio DJ, moonlighted as a professional wrestler, and been an investigator for "World Of Enigmas", an original YouTube show that explores the unexplained - everything from ghosts to Bigfoot to true crime cold cases. It's been interesting, and it's getting more interesting. Thanks for having me in the group!

I’m a wife and mother of two small children (1yo and 2yo) and I live in the Midwest. When I get the time to read I love MYSTERIES especially Agatha Christie. I got into mysteries when a friend told me to read And Then There We’re None and have been reading mysteries ever since. I joined this group to find more mystery books to read! Nice to meet you all.

Megan | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Megan from the UK.
I've recently got back into reading since the numerous lockdowns & loved the goodreads app to keep track of how many books I'm reading & adding books to my TBR list.
I love thriller books, my favourite author at the moment for thriller is T.M Logan. I've just started a new book last night called After Anna by Alex Lake, I've read some good reviews for it to intrigued to see what will happen.
Any good book recommendations send them my way! :)

Hello and welcome to everyone. I hope you'll join some of our reading discussions. I always think about when I read Oral History by Lee Smith and I had to make myself read it and dreaded picking it back up. I then went to a discussion about it and thought I had read a different book. Made me want to go back and re-read it.

So join a discussion; it adds so much to the reading of a book.

I've always loved reading but haven't read as much as I'd liked to in the last few years. For this spring break I'm trying to read as much as I can but I don't know where to start.

Nice to meet you all!

Sue Hi all, I am another mystery lover and watch a lot of British tv. I love Midsummer Murders and keep an eye on Britbox and Acorn for shows all the time. My current best book is Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I also got hooked on Louise Candlish, Alan Bradley and Alex Michaelides. I'm always on the lookout for books to read and keep a list ongoing.

I JUST finished Thursday Murder Club and am a few pages into the 2nd book The Man Who Died Twice and am already loving it. I watch Midsomer Murders ALL the time - it's so good. I don't have Britbox but have thought about getting it because I watched several seasons of Vera on Acorn and then the rest of the show is on Britbox. Not fair.

message 546: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey guys. My name is Jasmin and I am thirty-three years old male. And I've to say that I love thrillers, especially, the psychological ones, the kind that mess with your head, and are just too good to put down. But if I had to pick,

I'd pick those that have very beautiful and mysterious covers cause I am literally obsessed with books that have beautiful and mysterious covers, simply because of their beauty and because of their mystery.

Anyway, I joined this group, and I am here, because I am searching for book recommendations and for the people who have similar taste to mine, who love beautiful and mysterious covers as much as I do, and are willing to strike up a chat every once in a while, you know, talk about books and all kinds of recommendations.

If you're curious and interested, you know where to find me =) Blessings
