Elianna Hills “The Brain: The Story Of You” written by Stanford scientist, David Eagleman takes you on a journey deep into your skull. Neuroscientist Eagleman guides us through everyday situations, facial expressions, genocide, robotics, sports, medicine, and future technology. It poses challenging questions as to who humans really are, how we decide, and how we relate to other people. The book explores brain development from childhood up to adulthood. It also analyzes brain function during sleep, danger, and pain. From memory, to mental illness, to brain surgery, to normal bodily functions, this book delves deep into cognitive function in laying out what makes you you, in an understandable way. Something I really appreciated about this book was the high level of knowledge I was receiving was made interesting and comprehensible even though prior to reading this, I have not extensively studied the brain. Eagleman strives to make the book more interesting than a textbook by treating it like a storyline, the story of brain development, the story of your life. This book kept me captivated throughout and taught me many things useful to analyzing myself and others behavior during everyday life. I encourage everyone to read this book or study the brain it is super interesting!!
