Celeste August or "Auggie" Pullman, a ten-year-old boy living in New York City, was born with a
facial deformity that has made it difficult for him to make friends. He lives with his parents, his older sister Via, and his dog Daisy. He has been homeschooled up until the fifth grade, but his parents have decided that it is time for him to go to a real school. They enroll him in Beecher Prep, a neighborhood private school. Auggie settles into the first few months of school and his classmates slowly get used to the way his face looks. He becomes friends with Jack, and with a girl named Summer who sits with him at lunch on the first day.

I was born with a birthmark on my shoulder. And it's not small but like medium size. It's big enough for you to see it. But when i was little, I used to hate it so much, I was embarrassed by it. I didn’t like going swimming cause you could see it. I was so insecure about it. My story relates to Auggies story because, he is embarrassed by the way he looks. So Auggie avoided going out in public. I remember when i was in fourth grade. There was a huge party that my school does every year in May. And i wanted to wear a tank top to it cause it was pretty hot. So i put a bandaid on to cover it up. And that whole night i got so many questions on what happen to my shoulder. And i was fine with it because people didn’t really know what was under it. Auggie covers up his face with a helmet so people won’t see his face. But today i'm not embarrassed by it anymore. I've come to accept it and I love it now. Auggie comes to except what he looks like and ends up loving himself.

The book itself was amazing. It's one of my favorites to read. My favorite part in the book is when Auggie and Jack get bullied by older people when there at camp. And more buys come and scare the bully off to help Auggie and Jack. Auggie then realizes that he's not alone and has more friends who love him. I think The author did an amazing job at it. I like how he tells each person's story in the book. So you get a background on that person.

I would recommend this book to anyone 100%. It's one of my favorite books of all time. Its a cute and sweet book. Anyone who likes to read books about true stories. Cause this book is about a real little boy.

I read 100% of the book, I read the whole book
