The Uno Challenge - April 2018
Ahh... too many threads lol I don't know which month people are talking about haha...Readathon was okay. I had hoped to do better but an eye injury last week has severely slowed me down. I had to read with an eyepatch even (that was interesting!) So I quickly strained my good eye. And then I was a 5 minute walk for the ocean and otters at play so I was often and easily distracted lol. But it was a fun weekend. We just got home. I really wish the readathon did not take place the same weekend our Kite Festival does every year. Leaves me exhausted!
I ended up napping from 2:30-7 (!) which really set me back. I didn't get any of the complete books finished that I wanted to, so I ended up putting them down and picking up 2 short ones to make myself feel accomplished XD Otherwise it would have been the first readathon ever. Honestly, it was that nap that killed me. I needed it, but the reading suffered!
How's the eye now? I wouldn't be able to read with an eye-patch! I tried closing one eye just now and couldn't do it XD Too tricky.

Getting better. It just keeps itching like a (insert choice word here) and when I don't wear the patch it is very light sensitive and tears up like crazy. So the patch helps me from both light and rubbing it. I see a specialist tomorrow so we shall see but it is getting better. There is a drop she can give to help more but only if the splinter wounds are healed better (never get a weed sticker in your eye!) so fingers crossed!
It has not been a very fun past week. Early/mid last week I could barely read at all. Or course I wasn't even told to where a patch for the light at first (that was my second visit because my eyes would not stop leaking and vision seemed cloudy. So that helped some but even then maybe only 15 min a day for a couple days. So comparatively I am much better! Pain is non-existant now except for itchyness and the light a bit. But each day is better!
We think I got a sticker there when playing with my dog. I was playing with him and near my eye hurt my but husband couldn't see anything so we dismissed it. That night it got worse and kept (stupidly but sleepily) kept rubbing eye all night. Went to the doctor when I saw how red it was the next morning and it HURT. In the far back outer edge of my eye he saw something and pulled it out. In pieces as it broke! The pieces looked like part of this corkscrew-like sticker that grows in the area
Sticker?
Holy shit so he was pulling stuff out of your eye??
Lol the spam on this thread :p You can delete the messages if you like, I don't mind.

Yep. Pokey, dried, twisted seedling thing from a weed.
And yes, little itsy bits at a time. I think most of it was just on the side of the eye socket but I am not even sure what was stuck where. I should have taken a pic of my eye after he was done. SO red in that corner. I looked like I had some weird demon eye or something, by my nose was white like normal, then my pupil/iris looked bloodshot but the other far left side was practically pure red.
Weird coincidence, last month (march) we had to take my dog to the vet for his eye due to car oils/battery acid. I guess this was payback or sorts.
Hey Sarah, are you still going to be giving new cards even after the challenge ends? Like, if a team finished a card and then got a skip card. They could win just because they got lucky.
Lucky wrote: "well good luck to all teams. bet this waiting game is going to be intense."It will be! Thank goodness I'm on serious or the waiting would kill me! Although I probably won't see individual scores till I'm awake. :)

Maddison wrote: "who knows when scores will be up! Sarah has so much work to do!"True. But she got on early special today so we might have it in about an hour or so. :)

We totally are! I have several BRs for the first week alone! :D
Oh I timed my books perfectly so I didn't have to split page points between two challenges this month.

Yay! That's good! It's so annoying when you still have 4 hours of a challenge left and can't start reading anything because it will overlap!

I did that anyway in the hope of closing one more category. But now I'm 70% into a book. :S
Amanda wrote: "Lol well I hope it was a good book"It was a 3.5 star book. :) I can't wait to read the next book though since I like that POV better. :)
Melanie wrote: "I'm 30% done with a book I was hoping to finish. 😐 now I wish I had waited to start! Lol"I'm the same but you never know. :S
