Emily Jane Young (emilyjaneyoung) | 2 comments I saw it in a bookstore but I had to rush off, and I foolishly assumed I would remember the title to look into later. Here's what I remember:

Physically: It's fairly thick, which is why it caught my eye - maybe 600 pages. Cerulean blue cover with little to no graphics, minimalist design. I would call it "hardcover" because the cover overhangs the pages, but really it was a little floppy and sort of a rubbery cover, like a Langenscheidt foreign language dictionary.

Content: Shelved in "Fiction/Literature" section. I flipped through it a little and saw that the formatting was experimental - some pages full of words, some pages with very few, creatively-placed words (think House of Leaves, etc).

Title/Author: These details I remember the least (obviously). I spotted it when I was looking for an "O" author, but it was a ways to the left, so the author name likely starts with L,M, or N. I remember the title as being just the word "Mystery" followed by a version number (as in a computer program) such as "Mystery 2.0" or "Mystery 3.5" or whatever - I can't remember the number, and searching by title has been fruitless, so I may be remembering it all wrong.

I assume it is a recent book, as it was a fairly small bookstore that probably doesn't stock titles for long unless they become great sellers or classics, so 2017-18, but I could be wrong about that.

S. by J.J. Abrams comes to mind, but I don't think it's a close fit. You might find it interesting.
