Staci - You can't go wrong with either of those books they are BOTH so good!!!!

Awesome! I'm definitely reading From the Start this month, but it may be a little later. I should start my "lighthouse" novel tonight whatever it is. :-)

message 155: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments For lighthouse week I'm going to read A Dead End (Saints & Strangers #1) by Keeley Bates as its the 1st in a series. :)

message 156: by Hannah (last edited May 05, 2018 09:54PM) (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Anyone else planning ahead? Here's a tentative selection of books I hope to get to this month that may fit some upcoming categories.

Standalone:
Hurricane Season by Lauren K. Denton The Heart Between Us Two Sisters, One Heart Transplant, and a Bucket List by Lindsay Harrel

#1
Miss Buncle's Book by D.E. Stevenson The Accidental Guardian (High Sierra Sweethearts, #1) by Mary Connealy

#2
The Hearts We Mend (Banister Falls #2) by Kathryn Springer Long Time Gone (The Cimarron Legacy, #2) by Mary Connealy

#3
Blind Betrayal (Defenders of Justice #3) by Nancy Mehl A Note Yet Unsung (Belmont Mansion, #3) by Tamera Alexander

This week I'll try to get a start reading them and stop halfway-ish.

message 157: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Great thinking Hannah!

I've got so many options for standalone, first in the series, second in the series and third in a series that I've no doubt I can find one.

As for starting different ones a little early that may work, excellent strategy. Especially if a winning category is called.

message 158: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I started The Lacemaker by Laura Frantz , which will work for standalone, 2nd or third in series.

If Mountain/Hill is called, I will read Chasing Secrets (Elite Guardians, #4) by Lynette Eason - 4th in series

message 159: by Sarita (last edited May 08, 2018 02:36AM) (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I meant if River/Lake/Ocean was called.

I think if River/Lake/Ocean is called I will read Beneath Copper Falls (Rock Harbor #6) by Colleen Coble

If any other 4th category is called I will read Chasing Secrets (Elite Guardians, #4) by Lynette Eason

If the first in the series is called, I have a few options - probably something for the uniform challenge.

message 160: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Just finished my Bird(3) book and posted my review. :)

message 161: by Brittany (last edited May 09, 2018 07:29PM) (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments Well, my book for LIGHTHOUSE (first in series) Until I Knew Myself (Bentwood #1) by Tammy L. Gray fell flat for me. I just couldn't get into it so I have stopped reading it.

So, I believe I will read The Accidental Guardian (High Sierra Sweethearts, #1) by Mary Connealy for first in series.

message 162: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Oh wow! I really enjoyed it. Sorry it was a miss for you Brittany.

message 163: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments We have another week team. This one isn't a winning category. Here are the details:

The Tenth category is...

24. Heart (Standalone)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Heart on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is NOT part of a series.
3: read a book that starts with the letter S (for Standalone)

message 164: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm 30% into Sons of Blackbird Mountain, so that will be perfect!

message 165: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I'm 44% done with The Lacemaker by Laura Frantz so will finish that for this category.

I'm silently happy that it is not a winning category yet :-)

message 166: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments Staci wrote: "Oh wow! I really enjoyed it. Sorry it was a miss for you Brittany."

Well, who knows why I couldn't get into it. I also have a lot going on around here with my daughter's graduation coming up and all the various recitals, etc going on. I am a wee bit stressed. So maybe that's it. It didn't click immediately, so I had to move on. I have some other books by her on my kindle and audio, and I plan to give this author another try down the road.

message 167: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments For the HEART category, I am going with the "S" option and plan to read Storm Front (Montana Rescue #5) by Susan May Warren .

message 168: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments For this week (Heart/Standalone) I am going to read After Anna by Lisa Scottoline , as it is a standalone, and I have much more than 100 pages left to read in it. :)

message 169: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I just finished The Heart Between Us but had less than 100 pages remaining so that won't work unfortunately. I will probably read a standalone for this challenge.

Brittany, look forward to reading Storm Front!

message 170: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I ended up reading Catch a Falling Star by Beth K. Vogt for my "heart" book. It was good!

message 171: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I actually finished a thriller first. :) So that's my standalone. Got my review posted.

message 172: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments Finished my HEART book (starts with an S)
Storm Front (Montana Rescue #5) by Susan May Warren

message 173: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm halfway through that one, Brittany. I'm reading several books tonight to hopefully be ready if the last category gets called!

message 174: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments Awesome! Great strategy!

message 175: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments The suspense! About an hour to go...

Just finished a novel and have one in the works. My one in the works is book one of a series.

message 176: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments My first in series novel isn't a fit, but that's ok. We've got a week to finish the next category (Road) as a winning category wasn't called.

I was surprised at the number of roads on covers. Funny how you can miss things if not looking for them. My most "road" novel is:
The Road to Terminus by Catherine Leggitt

Most likely for this category:
The Captured Bride (Daughters of the Mayflower #3) by Michelle Griep Change of Heart (Paper Hearts #2) by Courtney Walsh

Happy reading all!

message 177: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm reading a vintage book with a road on the front, but I'll have to add the cover image here as the edition isn't in the database. I hit it a good knock last night but wasn't quite able to finish.

message 178: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I would like my current read to work, but it won't If I Run (If I Run, #1) by Terri Blackstock (though I can imagine it is a road in the background).

I will probably read Blind Trust (Second Chances, #3) by Terri Blackstock which is the 3rd in the series

message 179: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments I plan to read The Captured Bride (Daughters of the Mayflower #3) by Michelle Griep for ROAD (3rd in series).

message 180: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments can't wait for your review!!!

message 181: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments For this most recent category I'm going to read Two Girls Down by Louisa Luna as it starts with T and i have more than 100 pages left in it. :)

message 182: by Hannah (last edited May 18, 2018 11:32AM) (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Well...actually, finished a different one that has a road on the cover...I'm a few chapters away from the end of Gytha still, so I'm going to post this one instead.
The Melody of the Soul (Music of Hope #1) by Liz Tolsma

message 183: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Whoa! You cruised through that one fast, Hannah! Did you enjoy it? ;)

message 184: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I loved it! :)

message 185: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Awesome! I really enjoyed that one too.

message 186: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Just posted my lighthouse(1) review! :)

message 187: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Great!

message 188: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Just finished my "road" novel. I'm thinking things are about to get crazy with categories called daily. We'll know soon!

message 189: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I bet. I have time to read, and I haven’t used my freebie, either.

message 190: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Just finished my road book as well. Will post the review soon.

I'm thinking to start the book I plan to read for the river category, so that if categories are being called daily, I will have a head start :-)

message 191: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments Finished The Captured Bride (Daughters of the Mayflower #3) by Michelle Griep for ROAD (Third in Series)

message 192: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Hooray! I think we’re all caught up and ready for tonight’s new category. :)

message 193: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Woohoo!! :)

message 194: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Yes we are all caught up! Well done team!

The Twelfth category is...

6. Dog/Cat (1)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a dog or cat on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is first in its series.
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for one/1)

Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!

----

This IS a winning category, so another category will get called tomorrow at 12:01 AM (ET) if a team hasn't called a valid BINGO by then.

message 195: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I'm going to use my free pass on this category. Will rather try to focus on River for in case that gets called soon.

BTW - if we get dog/cat, we have another option for Bingo, since we then need man/women for bingo.

message 196: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments I'm going to read Murder at Cookie Lane (Cookie Lane #1) by Karen Sullivan for dog/cat - its first in a series AND has a cat on the cover! :)

message 197: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Nicely done Dizzy!

I'm going to go with A Cliché Christmas (Love in Lenox, #1) by Nicole Deese . It's the first in the series and just over 200 pages. Hope to make a good dent in it tonight.

message 198: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Sarita, thanks for sharing river/lake is a winning category for us.

After dog/cat, man and woman will always be a winning category.

Let the mad dash to the finish begin! Happy reading all!

message 199: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'll be finishing The Sheriffs of Savage Wells by Sarah M. Eden as it's first in a series and I have 120 ish pages left to read.

message 200: by Hannah (last edited May 24, 2018 09:50AM) (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Next up for me: I have River/lake in progress with p 135 of 293 in Without a Trace (Rock Harbor #1) by Colleen Coble . I'll be getting closer to page 190 today.

I'll be starting man/woman today with The Hearts We Mend (Banister Falls #2) by Kathryn Springer
