SOLVED. Children's book about escaping a fairy tale. Potential Spoilers. [s]

Title was "the story" or something similar. The front cover shows a girl in a pink dress walking through a forest. It's about a princess (the girl on the cover) who literally lives in a fairy tale. She and her family are trying to escape to the "real world" since their fairytale is collapsing around them.

Subsequent books were eventually released that maybe talk about them trying to return to the fairytale, I can't remember, but it definitely became a series.

Read in the mid-late 2000s, and it came out around that time as well.
