Anne ✨ Finds Joy (annefindsjoy) | 718 comments June's Theme for our Monthly Read is "Intergalactic Travels" : sci-fi, time travel, space etc

We want to know about the books YOU want to read most, for inclusion in the voting poll to finalize our June BOTM. Please comment below with book suggestions (on this theme) that you'd like to see included in the poll.

We'll be setting up the poll for voting within the next week or so, so we need your suggestions soon! We won't be able to include every suggestion in the poll, but we'll narrow down to the most popular ones that get multiple requests and that make for good discussion.

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 494 comments Ooh I'm a-gonna suggest Logan's Run by William F. Nolan

Logan's Run is a novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson and was written in just 3 weeks. Published in 1967, the novel depicts a dystopic ageist future society in which both population and the consumption of resources are maintained in equilibrium by requiring the death of everyone reaching the age of 21. The story follows the actions of Logan, a Sandman charged with enforcing the rule, as he tracks down and kills citizens who "run" from society's lethal demand—only to end up "running" himself.

The novel was adapted in 1976 as a film, directed by Michael Anderson and starring Michael York as Logan 5 (not 3), Jenny Agutter as Jessica 6, and Richard Jordan as Francis 7. Farah Fawcett-Majors appeared in the film as Holly, and would later go on to star in Charlie's Angels.

I've got an old battered paperback, but if you can't find one you can get a FREE e-copy here http://english-e-reader.net/book/loga...

Tiina (cauchemarlena) | 371 comments The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy would be a wonderful classic to check out.
Foundation would also be another one for me. I've also been meaning to read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? /Blade Runner 1 but not sure how much intergalactic travel (but definitely sci-fi)
